[26]
Jade had been in the institution for a week now, and not once was Beck allowed to see her.
It wasn't because the hospital didn't allow visitors, because they did. It was because Jade didn't want to see him.
He was becoming more and more anxious every day. He wanted to see her, to see if she was doing okay.
But he couldn't. He wasn't allowed to.
But that didn't stop him from going to the institution every day, asking if he could see her.
He didn't hear anything bad from the hospital, but he didn't hear anything good, either.
Maybe she was doing okay. Maybe she would be released soon.
He could only hope.
-
"Jade, you need to eat something."
"Not hungry."
"Please? Just eat an apple. Or yogurt. You have to at least eat one of those."
"No."
The woman sighed, placing the food back on the tray. "You haven't eaten all day. Did you eat yesterday?"
"No."
The woman, Melissa, sighed again. "If you don't eat, you won't be allowed any visitors today."
"Good."
Melissa was tired of the one word answers. "Jade, you need to eat something right now."
"Not hungry."
"The reason you're here is to not hurt yourself," she reminded the goth, who shrugged.
"I never wanted to be here in the first place."
Melissa let out another sigh. "I know. I never wanted to be here, either."
"Then why are you trying to help me?" Jade asked, looking up at the brunette.
"Because my brother is in this same institution," she explained. "He's a cutter. Been cutting ever since he was twelve, he's sixteen now. And I want to help other people like him. Like you."
"I'm not a cutter."
"I've heard you tried to overdose on pills," the brunette quirked an eyebrow. "That's not exactly safe, either."
"I know."
"Please eat something," Melissa tried again. "Do it for me."
"No."
Melissa shook her head, standing up from the bed and walking to the door. "Y'know, your boyfriend has been coming by every day. He really wants to see you. He seems anxious to see if you're okay. At least talk to him."
"Not my problem."
"You don't want to see him?"
"He's the one who sent me here," Jade said calmly. "And I will never forgive him for that."
"You should at least try to get better."
"You can't teach and old dog new tricks," Jade replied, staring at the white wall in front of her.
Melissa was done trying for now, and she shook her head, leaving the room and closing the door behind her.
-
"Just let me see her!" Beck exclaimed in exasperation as he ran a hand through his hair anxiously. "Please."
"She doesn't want any visitors, sir. I'm sorry."
"Damn this," Beck muttered as he walked away from the desk, heading out the door of the building once again.
He was frustrated. How could she be so selfish? He was trying to help her!
He got into his car and slammed the door roughly, sticking the key into the ignition and started driving around, not having a clue where he was going.
He wanted his Jade back. Or at least know if she was okay or not.
It was his fault for sending her there, when it was obviously she didn't want to go. Who would want to go, anyway? Nobody wanted to admit if they had mental health issues or not.
But he couldn't help it. He knew she wanted help, she was just way too stubborn to admit it.
But hopefully, she'll get better soon, and there won't be anything more to worry about. Everything could finally go back to normal.
Everything would be okay again.
He smiled at the thought, driving around for thirty minutes before realizing it was about time to return back home.
He missed Jade, but it was for the best.
If it meant her finally getting better, he'd do whatever the hell it took.

Another update for you all!
One or two more chapters left...still deciding on that part.
Just going to say I'm sorry in advance.
Make sure to comment your thoughts! Will Jade finally get better? Will everything go back to normal, or will it just get worse?
Until next time!
