Beck was never the one to listen.

Or rather, he listened, but he didn't care.

And he didn't listen when Jade told him not to send her to a mental institution.

After she had fallen asleep that night, he called up the hospital and admitted her to an empty room inside, and she didn't have a clue about it.

He was doing it all because he cared about her. He wanted her to get better.

So the next day, he managed to get Jade into the car, and he started driving as heart thumped loudly in his chest.

"Where are we going?" She asked innocently, looking at him as he drove.

"Somewhere."

"Well no duh," she rolled her eyes. "Where is this somewhere?"

He didn't want to lie to her.

"It's a surprise."

Her brows furrowed, confused as to why his tone was irritated.

"Did I do something wrong?"

He looked at her and smiled weakly. "No, you didn't do anything wrong. We're almost there."

She nodded, laying her head back against the headrest as he continued driving.

But as soon as he arrived and pulled into an empty parking space, she realized where they were.

"A mental institution?" She whispered brokenly, looking at him with fear in her big blue eyes.

"I'm sorry," he said quietly. "But I had to- "

She ignored his excuses, her heart beating fast as her breathing sped up. He sent her to a mental hospital. He thought she was crazy. He thought she needed mental help.

Her hands gripped onto the leather seat, all oxygen leaving her lungs as she gasped.

"Hey, hey, it's alright," Beck tried to calm her down, tried to do something to ease the panic attack she was seconds away from having. "Deep breaths, okay? Here, breathe with me. In...out. In...out."

She nodded and did as he said, breathing in and out slowly until her breathing turned back to normal.

"It's gonna be okay," he told her gently. "You're not gonna be here for long. They're just going to help get rid of the bad things, alright?"

She turned to him, and looked him in the eye. "I told you that if you sent me here, I would never forgive you."

He sighed. "Jade- "

"They won't help me," she continued. "Nobody can help me. I'm broken. I can't be fixed. You can't just send me to a mental hospital and expect everything to be better after a few days. That's not how it works."

"I know, but- "

She didn't give him a chance to respond as she got out of the car and slammed the door, and he sighed and followed her.

Jade felt uncomfortable as she looked around the huge building, her palms becoming sweaty and her breathing speeding up again. She didn't like this. She didn't like this at all.

"I can't do this," she whimpered, immediately reaching up to press her hands to her temples. "I don't want to do this. I want to go home. I just want to go home."

Beck couldn't stand this. He couldn't stand seeing her in pain. He just wanted to take it all away. If he could, he definitely would.

"I promise, everything's gonna be okay."

"Liar!" She screamed, causing paramedics to rush over to the two. "Stop saying everything's gonna be okay! Stop lying to me!"

A paramedic grabbed onto her arm, and she shook them off. "Don't touch me!"

Beck couldn't do anything except stand there, watching as more people rushed to Jade and tried to calm her down.

She needed help, she truly did.

He didn't want to just leave her there, but he didn't have a choice.

"I hate you!" She screamed at him, making him flinch. "I'll never forgive you! Dammit, get off of me!"

Beck couldn't watch the scene before him anymore. So he turned around and walked out of the building, her screams and cries echoing in his ears as he took a deep breath.

This would help her. This would keep her from hurting herself. She will be okay.

She had to be okay.
