Chapter Fifteen

"You always have to watch your back..even your closest friends can be your personal hell"

~Charlotte's POV~

I couldn't understand why Sissy was so sad all the time. I've seen her crying, even when she thinks I can't see her. I don't know why she cries, why she's so unhappy. We got away from my mean Daddy, isn't that what we needed to do?
Daddy can't hurt us anymore, we can finally be happy now. I look over at Morgan, he was so big. I giggled, making him turn his head towards me. I gasped and covered my eyes, he can't see me now. I heard him chuckle as he started looking around for me.

"Hmm....now where could sweet Charlotte be now!? Where are you, Little One...I can't seem to find you!"

See, I told you how good of a hider I was.

I couldn't help the laughs that slipped past my lips as he began to come closer and closer to me. I held my breath, shrinking into the couch, trying to hide myself. I knew I was invisible to him, my face was covered. He called out my name several times, but I was too smart for him. He huffed, I knew I had won!

"Okay Charlotte...you are a really good hide and seek player! You win...I can't find you!"

I cheered as I uncovered my eyes and lept up from the cushion. I giggled as I jumped in victory, I was so good at this game! He smiled at me and before I knew he was tickling me. I screamed in laughter as I giggled breathlessly. After a couple seconds, He picked me up and let me catch my breath.
He was my bestest friend, other than Sissy of course. I don't feel afraid of him anymore, I think of him as a big brother. I smiled my toothy grin at him as he set me back down. I heard the door open, seeing Reid and Sissy walk out. Whenever Sissy was sad, I was sad too. I could see it in her face and I could feel myself getting worked up.

"Baby..don't cry. See, I am perfectly fine."

She smiled brightly at me and picked me up. In seconds I was smiling back at her, the tears wiped away. I kissed her cheek and nodded in approval. I hugged her tightly, looking at Reid and smiling. She set me on the ground, Reid whispering in her ear. She nodded her head and smiled down at me.

"I'll fix you something to eat Rachel, you need something else in your stomach."

Rachel nodded again and watched Reid leave for another room. Morgan and Rossi walked up to her and started talking. They didn't seem fun anymore, more serious.

"Tell me exactly what you saw. What he was wearing, what he did, anything else that you could possibly think of."

Rachel spoke in a soft, hushed, voice. It was too quiet for my ears to hear, but Rossi and Morgan seemed to hear her just fine. While she talked about the nice man outside of Hotch's, I started to think about him too! He was so nice.

"Why don't you go into my room and pick out a movie for us, Sweetie?" Hotch asked Charlotte.

She nodded eagerly and ran into his room, excited to find a movie. She hasn't been able to watch a movie in so long, not after Dady broke the TV. She walked over to the plastic tub of movies and started searching for a good movie for her and the little boy to watch. She was still shy around him, he was a new person. She didn't like him at first, but he let her play with his toys. She likes him now, they are friends!

She's heard a tapping on the window, the sound was annoying her. She looked towards the window, seeing a shadow appear in front of the glass. She started to cry out, the fear of something bad happening, her. Suddenly, the shadow leaned closer to the window and she stopped crying. It was a man, who was smiling very friendly at her and motioning for her to come closer.
She wasn't scared anymore, he was waving at her. She came to the window, and after a couple minutes of struggling to open it, she finally succeeded. The man chuckled at her and waved again. Once she waved back, he leaned his head inside the room.

"Is your sister, Rachel, here by any chance?" The nice man asked.

She smiled widely at him, he must be a nice person because Sissy knows him! If Sissy knows him, then there is nothing to wory about. She shook her head and missed a flicker of anger across the man's face before it disappeared. He sighed but continued smiling through his teeth.

"I have a surprise for your Sister, Charlotte. A very good surprise and I need you tell her I would love to talk to her soon. I want to make sure she's very interested in this...surprise."

She perked up at the sound of the word "Surprise." I love surprises! Suprises are always a fun thing to have! She giggled and nodded, hearing Hotch start to walk towards this door. The man started to step away into the darkness. She didn't want him to go yet, she wanted to know the surprise!

"Wait, mister! What is the surprise!?"

The man just chuckled and before he completely vanished, he looked at her for a long time. Charlotte cocked her head to the side, sometimes this man was silly.

"I can't tell you, Princess, or that will ruin the surprise! Just know that it will be a very good one. I must go now! Until then, ta ta!"

Then he was gone in the night, nothing but faint footsteps behing heard. She really wanted to know so badly what the surprise was! Oh, this is going to be so much fun!

"H-He was...so silent...he didn't move at all while..." Sissy said this a little bit louder, allowing me to hear her.

I was so confused, what was Sissy talking about? I didn't have time as I smelled something delicious coming from the small kitchen down the hall. I quietly padded down the hallway and peeked into the room where Reid was.
He had a plate of food sitting in front of him, his hands holding some kind of bottle. It had small words written on the front, and when he opened it, it had pills in it. I made a face, I didn't like medicine. Especially when I was sick, I had to take that yucky cough medicine.
Reid broke two pills open and scattered the insides on the food. He mixed it until he sighed and nodded his head. I didn't understamd why he was doing that.

"Now, all we have to do is wait." He said quietly, turning around to bring the food to Sissy.

I backed up and hid myself before he could see me. I was so good at hiding. I followed silently behind him until we were in the room where Rachel was. She smiled at us as Reid set the plate in front of her. Mmm, it was spaghetti! My favorite! She ate slowly at first, but she seemed like she wanted to eat faster.
Sissy always scolded me if I ate too sloppy. Once she finished the whole plate, she seemed happy, thanking Reid for making it. He seemed more quiet than usual, maybe I should ask why he put that stuff in her food. After a couple minutes of Rachel sitting in the chair, she started to sit further back into it.
She yawned, rubbing her eyes and blinking rapidly. Reid clasped his hands together and took her plate away. She yawned again, pulling up her knees in the chair and her eyes drooping. She was sighing, she looked so tired. She needed a nap!

"I guess a full stomach is what I needed. I guess a nap wouldn't hurt..." She trailed off as her eyes closed and she was slumped to the side of the chair.

Reid waited a couple more minutes before he went over and picked her up. He didn't look happy as he held her in his arms. Morgan and JJ came confused about what was happening. Reid started walking to the door, talking to them with his head turned.

"Trust me on this one...we need to take her to the hospital...and now, please."

There was no more talking as they quickly rushed her out the door. I teared up and let out a loud cry as my Sissy was carried off. Rossie picked me up gently and patted my back as I cried into his shoulder. I just wanted my sister to feel better.

"Shhh...sweetie. Your sister is going to be just fine. She was just...really needing to take a nap. She is going to get more help and she will be back here in no time. Okay?"

I pulled away slightly as he raised his free hand and wiped away my tears. I sniffled and looked at him with big eyes.

"S-So..my Sissy is going to be okay? She's going to get h-help?"

Rossi nodded, and gave me a tight hug before carrying me out the door with the rest of the team. I wiped my nose and snuggled closer into Rossie's arms as the cold air bit into my skin.

We were going to help Sissy, I was going to make sure of it.
