Andrea, being the only parent and family of Shay in the Collins manor, was a young and healthy and an over-caring mother. Shay, on the other side, was skinny and pale, and the most carefree child. The two opposite natures always got into fights with each other.
Shay always doubted that there was something his mother was hiding as he didn't have a family and his mother was young. Despite the constant fights and interrogation, "complications" was the only answer he got.
Even their neighbors tried to talk to them but his mother always denied or left them. Shay always thought that she was not her birth mother and was sure she was hiding something very important from him though he loved her a lot the fact that she is hiding something from him made him mad and that's why they fought a lot.
Andrea was the daughter of Judith and Martin Collins who were the retired army officials. The whole family had a threat of getting killed or tortured brutally by the outsiders or the terrorists. The background of the Collins family was never exposed completely. Even Shay was restricted to even mention the name of Martin and Judith. But was she their daughter?
Considering the brutal murders, Andrea decided to not work for the military and stayed in Texas with Shay for the sake of his safety.
Shay was born on 10th November 1985 and is 17, 2002.
His life was perfect till 2002 but it took a turn and it changed completely when he found out the actual truth of his origins which led him into danger.

It has some reference to the military but it is completely fictional, we don't want to hurt someone's sentiments or feelings.
