I didn't feel anything until someone shook me.
"Shay, Shay!" I heard an ever so familiar voice but, didn't recognize it. As I opened my eyes, a white flash of light blocked my vision until I squinted and adjusted to my surroundings. I mentally groaned as I saw those boring white walls and bright lights. It didn't take much time for me to tell that it was a hospital ward.
"Shay!" I glanced up and saw Alex who was smiling at me though, I could tell that he cried cause his eyes were red.
"Alex, what the heck are we doing here?" "OUCH!" I got up but I almost screamed when he smacked my arm and pushed me down.
"You need to rest" concern glinting at his red and teary eyes.
"Whatever" I laid back. I saw Alex muttering something to himself furiously before turning back to me.
"What happened to me?" I asked.
"After what..." He paused before yelling out-of-the-blue which made me jump. "Mike did to Christy, you fainted on the ground. I caught you but your head got injured still, you need rest."
"Christy?" I looked down at the bed. "What happened to her?" I forced the words out but choked on the last one, scared to know about it. He turned his gaze on my pillow as he toyed with a thread, tears started rolling down his eyes.
"She.....died"
"Mike" I mused as I wiped away my tears. He nodded.
"He was better when he was a clueless moron who would occasionally make some sarcastic comments and not a killer who sold his friends out by siding with my dad and......Andrea."
"He chooses his path. after you passed out, something unusual happened, I saw a very different Mike"
"What happened?"
"After you'd fainted, I placed you in a corner and turned to yell at Mike. He stood right there, smirking at me, his cold gaze made me froze on my spot, and the words he spoke were unbelievable."
"What did he say?"
"He said that you repressed his fame, you made him your dog, someone who will shake their tails at your sight, he didn't like your group, he wanted to break it and Robbin used that weapon against us, he offered him money".
"He killed Christy because of money?"
"Not only Christy," he shifted uncomfortably on his seat. "He is the one who killed Mr. Phil". My eyes widened at those words in shock, how could he?!
"I never meant to let him down, I was never a leader. I was just a friend who wanted everyone to be happy" I said as calmly as possible but my hands were shaking and tears were welling up in my eyes.
"Karma will hit him back, don't worry," he said placing his hands on mine and forced them to stop.
"I always had some doubts about Andrea though, and Mike was also acting suspicious from the past few days, it's no big deal, I just want revenge," I said casually.
"We have more important matters in our hand," he said. I glanced up at him and frowned.
"What?" I asked.
"I'm thinking, about reopening the case. Or maybe we can file a case against--" but he stopped when the door of the ward swung open and a nurse came in. She went over a small trolley which was kept beside my bed and fidgeted with something before turning towards me. She traced my old head injury which I got when I first met Christy. Although it didn't hurt now, there was just a small scar left.
"How are you feeling right now?" She spoke politely. But, I found that annoying, she could've just told me to get out but, whatever, I replied to her anyway.
"I'm feeling like an ugly potato"
"I mean, does it hurts?" She asked, ignoring my reply as she traced my forehead.
"Not at all, just waiting for someone to come and make fries from my potato head"
"Then you are dismissed, there is some paperwork left after which you can go"
"No surgeons? No fries?; damn it!" I spoke in a mock tone which made her smile as she left before commanding us to follow her.
I got up from the bed and followed her with Alex. After signing the papers and paying the bill, we bought some medicines from the nearby store and started down the alleyway which led us to Alex's home.
"Look, I was thinking of filing a case against Robbin," he said, breaking the silence.
"But do you think it will work..... I mean who will help us and who will believe us, it's a very delicate case." I asked.
"We have the diary"
"We need some more strong witnesses"
"Well..." He looked down, a sad expression making its way on his face. I hated it, I hate to see my friends like this, sad and frustrated because of me. I thought about it for a second and jumped in glee when all my thoughts finally made some sense.
"PHIL'S MOM!!" I yelled in joy.
"Jeez Shay, you scared me," Alex said.
"Do you remember that lady whom we met at the shop?. the one who told us about Mr. Phil's address?. If we convince her and tell her about Mr. Phil's death, then we can have a witness on our side"
He stopped as he thought about it. "You are right, for the first time, you are right!"
"Shut up" I tried my best to hide my grin which made its way on my face anyway.
We both went inside his room, ignoring Kate as she glared at us. After we went inside, he locked the door and I sat on his desk.
"I have a chair" he spoke as he slid a chair towards me.
"I'm blind," I said dryly.
"Whatever" he rolled his eyes and sat on the chair.
"But we need a lawyer for all this," I said. We both sat there silently, as we thought of some connections with a good lawyer.
"ANNA!" He snapped.
"No Alex, this Is not the time, how can she help us? I asked confusingly
"Anna's father, he Is a lawyer" oh my God, how can I forget this, she mentioned it earlier but thanks to my memory.
"We should meet her"
"Sure," I said, hopping off the desk as I made my way to his door. I yanked it and paused. He followed me and we both stormed out of the house.
