Shay's POV-
After talking to Alex, I finally bid my goodbye and left the place. It was almost dark as I made my way through the street, I felt a chill run through my spine as I crossed the ever-so- familiar-looking dark and isolated street, and a flash of bitter memories became fresh in my mind. But before I could even proceed further, I felt like someone grabbed my shirt from behind, and the very next moment, someone dragged me into that isolated street. Without protesting, I let the person drag me because I knew it would be Christy and I didn't want to miss any chance, there were so many unanswered questions about her that I wanted to know. After getting pulled, I found myself facing the wall.
"Damnit!! Christy! Don't you know how a healthy conversation takes place?!" I almost shouted as I slowly turned to face her but, I came to a halt at whom I saw behind me, it was Robbin!
Before I could even figure out what was happening, he suddenly yanked my collar and placed a black-cold think on my neck, I failed to see it clearly but according to what I thought, it was a gun. I stood there, frozen on the spot and he glared at me dangerously with his green eyes, scrutinizing mine.
"Shut up!" He growled in a low voice.
I didn't protest any further and so, he spoke.
"Now listen to me," he pointed a warning finger at me, "I told you not to talk to that Anshley girl," he began rather calmly, "but nothing fits inside your bean-sized brain"
"But--" he shook his head in disgust so I stopped.
"I don't like to repeat things so, the only way left for me is to" he stopped and I heard a 'click' sound from beneath my neck which was probably of the gun which he was about to fire.
"No--no wait!!" I shouted and he stopped.
"But, I didn't talk to her after the day you warned me" but his reaction was unexpected, he smirked and I saw a glint of greed in his green eyes.
"Don't lie, I know that you met her after that also, after all, I was the only one to hit both of your heads with an iron rod which made you dehydrated for a good amount of time" he laughed.
"It--it was you?" I stuttered as I tried to remember the day when Christy dragged me in the road and told me that she was Meldy and she tricked Robbin because he tried to kill her.
"Of course it was me" he mused.
"But why are you doing all these things?"
"None of your business" he clicked his gun again but I stopped him again.
"I'm sorry I will not do this again, please leave me" I whimpered as I squinted my eyes and readied myself to greet death, But it didn't come.
"I usually don't spare people like you, but remember, this is your last time" he spoke sternly as he lowered his gun and let go of my collar and without looking back in his direction, I ran away as fast and as humanly as possible.
Panting, I rang the bell of my house and after a few seconds, mom opened it. I looked up in her direction only to see her glaring at me.
'Ugh, she's gonna kill me' I thought to myself as I glared back at her now-red-with-anger face.
As I entered, I silently sat on the couch, ready for the lecture.
"Where were you?" She asked sternly.
"I went out for a walk with Alex"
"Well, since when did that Robbin guy became Alex?" She raised her voice.
"What?!"
"I saw you running towards the house with Robbin, standing behind you with a gun"
"M-- mom" she waited for me to speak.
"Mom...I don't know if I should tell this to you or not but, I feel like there is something between you and Meldy" I lied, there was something that I knew because of that letter but it was a nice topic for my curiosity and a nice way to divert her from the main subject. She frowned and then spoke.
"You know who Meldy is?"
"Of course, who doesn't" I shrugged, "she was murdered by her sister"
"And do you know about Robbin?"
"Of course yes, he was Meldy's husband"
"And you met him because?" She asked bitterly.
"Well, I thought if I can just......talk to him?"
"And what made you think that I'm am Meldy's sister?"
"Uh...because you both look so familiar?" My tone looked rather doubtful. She shook her head in disbelief and spoke.
"What's gotten into you Shay?" She spoke in disbelief. But I just shrugged, I didn't have any other idea.
She sighed and began "look, what you assume is true, I will tell you everything if you promise me one thing"
"What?"
"After I explain to you everything, you will go to your room and sleep, no questions okay?"
"Sure"
"Me, Christy and Meldy are sisters. After what Christy did to Meldy, I changed my whole identity in fear of getting insulted"
"And who is my father?" I asked although I remember Robbin calling him my father but, who knows?
"Shut up! No further questions, go back to your room." I abruptly got up and turned to my heels.
only one was thing racing in my mind- 'if Robbin is my father and Andrea is my mother then who is Christy/Meldy?' 'And if Christy is Meldy then why she faked her death?' My heart was beating rapidly and I didn't know what to do.
'How can my random guess become so accurate? 'Maybe mom's just messing around with me?'
I sat on my bed and without thinking twice, I dialed Alex's number.
"Hello? Alex Patterson here" he replied lazily which made me sure that he was sleeping.
"Sorry for disturbing you at this late but, can I talk?"
"Is it that urgent?"
"No, but if I don't discuss this thing, I would probably blast"
"Okay, if this is important then we have to meet right now"
"What?"
"Yes, just come outside of my house after you become sure everybody is asleep"
"But--"
"See you at 1'o clock" and he hung up.
