Chapter-24 "Mike"

Mike's pov (point of view)-

After talking to that dog of Shay's. I followed the path Robbin took and ended up in his old house. I knocked on the door and waited outside. One of His pets, Andrea came out and smirked at me. Whatever, I'm not going to push her until I'm getting my money, I don't need anything else not even my mom, she can't even afford a pack of cookies, I don't care. I have money and that's all.

Andrea led me inside and Robbin handed me the payment, shoving me from his house. I went back to my house, ignoring mom as I did so. I slept a little and played some games but my mood got ruined when my phone rang. I picked it up.

"Hello Mike, Jeremy here"

"Hey, git!" I mentally groaned after hearing his high-pitched voice. "What do you want?" Irritation clear in my tone.

"I just wanted to talk"

"No need, bye" I hung up before he could even react and put my phone on silent. I rolled over my bed and switched on the television. I choose to watch the K-12 musical by Melanie Martinez. That was sure a good time pass. I got my money and now I don't need anything from anyone else. I'm all on my own now.

Minutes later, mom came in.

"Mike, switch off the TV, you have to study"

"Whatever, get out" I yelled and started with my work. It was nearly evening when I finished. I went out for a walk. Outside was quite dark but it was comfortable.

But, my whole mood got ruined when I spotted some gits. I jumped and hid behind the bushes as I saw them talk.

"Bye Alex!" Shay said and turned but, to my surprise, Alex yanked him "What?" Shay asked as he turned to him.

"Where do you think, you are going?" His dog asked.

"Home," he replied. I wanted to inform Andrea to keep her knife ready but I wanted to watch more of this drama.

"Going back to live with Andrea?" His dog asked. He looked down and for a fraction of a second, I saw a hint of tears In His eyes. but, probably he put his facade back on which ruined the mood.

"You are going to live in my house, no if's and but's" the dog barked. Ok, enough of these cringe moments. I groaned and left the place and dialed Robbin's pet's number.

"Hello?. Andrea here"

"Hey, pet, control your dog, he is probably gonna kiss Alex after what I saw today"

"Shut it!" She replied, "that's not my problem, and as far as I know, he is not MY dog" she unnecessarily forced too much pressure on the word 'my'.

"Whatever, I want my money"

"Mr.Keller, now for what stupid reason you want money?"

"I informed you something which we can use against him, we can tear him further if we side Alex with us"

"Look, it's none of my business, you wanted to tear him down. I just wanted him for Robbin who could kill Christy. My work ends, you are all on your own now. Just shut up and lick someone else's money"

"Rat" I mumbled and hung up. I wanted to spy on those dogs but I was too tired to do so. I just went inside my room and  dozed off to sleep after eating my dinner.

The next day, I gave my first exam and the rest of the day went like a piece of cake. It was Saturday and I was playing video games in my room. But, one of my worst unimaginable nightmares came true.

My mom stormed over my room without knocking and jeez, I forgot to lock it.

"Mike!" She came over to me and surprisingly, instead of hugging me, she slapped me. I kept my hand over my cheek and stared blankly at her, and succeeded in hiding my pain.

"What Mom?"

"THIS!" She waved a paper at me and I frowned in confusion. "THIS IS A NOTICE FROM THE COURT, THE HEARING WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY!!" she wiped angry tears from her face and I felt my face heating up, please say that this is a lie.

"Mom," I said, snatching the papers from her, get out now, I need some time" and shoved her out of my room. I hid all my money and paced in the room. Robbin must've had the same reaction and we all know that we were in great trouble. Mom looked so disturbed after reading all this but, this is none of her business. I know my problems and I will face them myself. God, I just dug a grave for myself, time to hop in, Mike, or you'll be behind the bars or probably would be hanged to death. I sat, wiping my tears away as I thought of possible outcomes. But, I'm not alone in this, Robbin and Andrea bribed me, It's not my fault, no, I'm innocent. But, deep down I knew that it was all my fault, all my fault, all my fault.

I yanked the door open and went outside, pushing mom away after hugging her a little, disguising the hug as a little shove before pushing her out of my way. I was walking when the phone rang, without reading the contact name, I picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Mike, it's me, Robbin"

"What do you want?" I mumbled bitterly.

"My money, give it back"

"I don't see any name on it"

"Shut up, give it back or you know the consequences. We can save you if you give it back, we will tell that it was me who dragged you into all this drama"

"Deal?"

"Deal" I hung up. Honestly, money was a better option but, if I lived, I would buy a new house for mom so that she could not interrupt my corrupt life and will go back on the path I took, I started it and Shay ended it. I found my way out of this and this is what matters.
