DON'T BE AFRAID, FOR I AM WITH YOU
There are enough "Don't be afraid" phrases in The Bible to last you for an entire year! Imagine if we actually took this to heart and realize just how close God truly is to us. If we had the revelation of God's love in us for us, we wouldn't be fighting fear, doubts, and all the wrong believing that we have. God truly wants us to be free. We need the revelation of God's love, of God's word in our hearts to be able to understand Him and our minds to be blown away by the strength and power of His love for us.
"When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him" (Isaiah 59:19) Normally we read this verse incorrectly, in the Hebrew language there is no commas, here the translators without realizing placed a comma and made the enemy seemed more powerful than he truly is. What this verse truly says is: "When the enemy comes, in like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him." Our Lord will lift up a standard against him and protect us from any attack of the devil. Don't let the devil manipulate your thinking. Trust God, even when it seems like He is not doing according to your will, or according to your feelings. Remember even Jesus didn't do things according to His feelings, because if He had done according to His feelings, He wouldn't have given Himself at the cross, it was a high price to pay for the creation to be set free from every bondage, and for their sins to be forgiven. But Jesus's love for us, and His love for the Father was greater, especially His necessity to do the will of the Father and not His.
How many times have we let fear and doubt surround us? We lose trust in The Lord, in who He is. We lost it for a moment, and we are not ourselves. God promises us to be with us, wherever we go, wherever we are. That He will protect us from evil and any weapon that is formed against us.
Once we know the true love of God, and once His unfailing love is revealed to us in our hearts. There is no going back. Love pushes out all fear, because when you know that you are loved with an unconditional, overwhelming love, you become bold! The devil may come at you with a huge bag ready to knock you out, he may try to hit you and push you, and knock you down, but behind you hear suddenly the Holy Spirit ready to knock him down and shot him off for daring to touch His child. A child of God Almighty.
Do you want to know something? The devil knows that when you know who YOU are in Jesus Christ, that YOU are an extremely dangerous person for his kingdom and plans. So he tries to obscure the knowledge of the love of God for us. When Jesus was baptized The Lord said, "This is my beloved Son..." You see when the devil tempted Jesus in the desert, the devil took out one word that could make his attempt to test Jesus' loyalty fail. He took out the word beloved. He said, "If you are the Son of God" not "If you are God's beloved Son..."
Once you know that you are God's beloved, you won't be tempted to do things that go against the will of the One that you love. There are many examples of how people knew that God loved them and that because of His love is that they could endure, and go through as many trials as the devil sent upon them. Jesus could endure the tests that the devil placed before Him because He knew His Father loved Him, and He gain strength upon that.
I encourage you today to know that you are God's beloved son and daughter. He doesn't want to see you struggle through life or live a life without happiness where sadness rules! He doesn't want that for you, He wants over joy to fill you up and make you bounce up from your sickness, from whatever situation you are dealing with. I command you to be courageous and strong, to be the man or woman that God wants you to be! Don't be afraid, especially of what people say about you. Know and have it written in your heart, your identity in Jesus Christ.
Encouraging Bible Verses:
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love" (1 John 4:18)
"So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed; for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10)
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discourage for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9)
