It's been three days since the accident and they've transferred Jin from the ICU to a normal room since he's getting a bit better. He still hasn't woken up, but he can breathe on his own now, so it's probably only a matter of time. Only family was allowed to visit when he was in the ICU and so I haven't been able to check up on him on my own until now.
I give a light knock on the hospital door before entering. Hoseok is sitting next to Jin's bed and he smiles when he sees me enter.
"Wow, you're really fast," he says while I close the door behind me. "It's barely been ten minutes since I called you. Are those for Jin?" He points at the bouquet in my hands and I nod.
"I felt weird coming empty handed. It's not much, but I think he likes flowers."
"I'm sure he'll love them."
I feel my hands tighten around the bouquet as I dare to walk closer to the bed and thankfully the sight isn't that bad. It's like he's just sleeping. I put the flowers on the table beside the bed and I have a seat next to Hoseok. He's been watching over Jin this entire time and he promised when I came here on the day of the accident that he'd tell me when I could come visit. He's a really nice person. He doesn't know me at all and yet he lets me in here just because I'm Jin's friend. Jin is lucky to have such a nice brother. They don't look very much alike, so I wonder if they're stepbrothers or something.
"Would you like to hear about his injuries?" Hoseok asks in a surprisingly cheerful tone. If he's that happy about it then maybe it's not that bad.
"Do tell."
"As you could probably tell, he hit his head pretty badly and got a hole in his skull."
"A hole?!"
"Yes, but they've stapled him back together, so it's not that bad. Aside from that he broke one of his legs in two spots and there were some internal bleeding too. Oh, and then there's the scratches and bruises, but those aren't that bad. It's just minor injuries."
Those may be minor, but the rest of it is not. He got a fucking hole in his head along with a broken leg. Not to mention internal bleeding. I don't really know what that entails, but it sounds freaky. I look at Jin and he's peacefully resting under the white bed sheets. Is he in pain? Maybe not right now, but he will be when he wakes up. I feel so bad for him. He didn't hesitate at all to save his brother. It's very heroic of him and it makes me wish I could've done the same. I would've easily traded places with him right now.
I notice Hoseok looking at me with curious eyes and when I turn my head he can't keep himself from speaking what's on his mind.
"So are you in love with Jin or something?"
My face gets warm from the sudden question and I stumble over my own words as I try to come up with something to say.
"N-no, what? I've never- I don't think he... Uhm... No, we're just friends."
"Hmm, really? Does he think so too? You know, I saw the footage of him kissing you silly at our house."
"You saw that?! Wait, did Jin see it too?"
"We watched it together. We were both really shocked. Apparently you hypnotized him, right? And then in the hallucination he saw Satan and got really excited. It's pretty strange how he saw Satan," he says with a laugh.
"Yeah, uh... About that. I think I might've gone a bit too far with the hypnosis."
Hoseok raises his eyebrows at me in question.
