It was October 31st.

Laila finished her share of duties in the household as her stepmother had asked her to. She washed her body with a regular body wash. It had a soft scent, a gentle feeling on her skin as she rinsed it with lukewarm water. Laila was sitting in the living room, lounging in her Pyjamas as her stepmother called her.

"It's been way too long Laila vanilla, your father won't be happy." She said, caressing Laila's forehead. Suddenly Laila's eyes felt heavy as if that woman had sleeping pills in her touch.

"I am waiting for him. He said we'd spend the night together." Laila yawned out loud before covering her mouth. Her stepmother smiled as she took a seat beside her. A blanket kept them warm on a cold evening as Laila cuddled with her. Laila's stepmother was warm; she was so warm it was amusing. She was warm in the coldest weather; she was warm when she was sick. Her touch was magical.

Laila lied beside her, embraced in her warmth as she played with a few strands of hair. The winds had music to them as she sang a song.

"Your father is going to be late Laila. You need someone to sleep with; I will sleep with you tonight." That was all Laila heard before her mind fogged up and she fell asleep.

It was still October 31st.

A sound woke Laila up. It wasn't loud like the banging of chairs at Proshchay. It felt stronger like scratching as if someone was scratching their nails on a chalkboard. She winced as the sound grew loud enough for her to peek a look. Under her bed, Pepper was playing with his toy. But the cat found digging his nails in the bed's foot more entertaining.

"Stupid cat," Laila murmured in a sleepy voice before shrugging the cat to leave. She pulled up the blanket to cover her head with a jerk before she felt a sharp pain from her abdomen.

"Careful there, it's still healing," Igor spoke.

Oh right, she was at Igor's place. She was brought there for the doctor to stitch her up after her brawling.

Oh right, she had been stabbed by Brutus.

"Ugh...what time is it?" Laila asked as she reached up and rubbed at her eyes roughly. She rubbed so hard that she saw little galaxies of stars under her eyelids and she didn't even try to cover a wide yawn that escaped.

"It's almost noon." He said taking a seat beside her in bed.

"Oh shit college," she muttered softly.

"Oh shit practice," She spoke a little louder this time, her eyes growing in size.

"OH FUCK KLINKA-AVA!" She practically screamed before jumping out of the bed.

Her hair was tousled erratically. Her face looked so pale, so white as if there was no blood. Laila sprinted towards the bathroom. She wet her hair a little, fixing them so she looked half decent. A set of vibrations rose from her stitched-up body every time she tried to move and fuck it was painful. She came out of the bathroom, clutching onto her lower half almost dragging herself across the floor. Laila had a few sets of clean clothes at Igor's place which Dimitri had dropped in her initial days. She put on faded jeans and a sweater topping it with a beanie to hide her hideous hair.

She looked decent enough.

"Where do you think you're going?" An annoying voice reached her ears. Brutus walked towards the girl, wondering why she was clutching to her one side.
