 "I thought I told you to stay away from Max." I rolled my eyes, "Oh please your giving yourself to much credit if you think I was going to listen to you." "Is this how you speak to your law enforcement?" "You see you would have to actually enforce the law AKA look into Andi's case." "ENOUGH! why are you here." Well, Carissa sent me to ask something." "So you didn't come because you wanted to?" Bradley seemed all too pleased. "it was voluntary." He glared at me. "Stay away from my son." "I'M. NOT. MY. MOTHER. Besides, y'all were broken up. Whatever grudge you have against my father and or me has nothing to do with Max. You shouldn't hold anything against her, your the one who had a child and then got married. It's your fault." "Who do you think you are going around asking what happened between your mother and me. If Max told me I swear i'll-" "Max didn't tell me. My mother did. And if you so much as lay a hand on her there will be hell to pay." "Oh I'm terrrifed." He said grinning. I punched him in the stomach just hard  enough so he could feel it. "Damn straight." "Your a-" I lost my patience. "For God's sake where's Max." "He's in the garage. But If you do anything other than ask him a simple question I'll know." "And I don't care."I clunkily went past him getting the crutches stuck multiple times so much for a swift exit. Once I entered the garage I stood there for a minute hypnotized by how he was working on the car.  I caught his eye and he hit his head on the muffler." Damn it LIZ!" He rubbed his head."Sorry I didn't mean to scare you!" " Max started to get up. "What did you need?" "Well, two things. Carissa wanted to know if you wanted to come for dinner." "And?" I answered quietly, "I was wondering why you didn't visit. plus I got told off by your dad for being around you and then my mom was brought up and I punched him." "Sure I'll come around for dinner. Wait what? You punched my dad?" he looked apalled. "Yes." I noticed that he ignored my second question. "Well I thought that at the beach you might-" "How are you feeling Liz?" "Worse for the wear," I said holding up crutches. "Did you hear the news?" I said trying a different approach. "Hmm?" "Mom and I are moving in with Carissa and Alain." "That's nice." "You didn't answer my second question." "Well, I got told off too." "Is that why you didn't come to see me?" "No." "What did I do wrong?" " Liz-" "Don't call me that." I snapped. I felt like I slapped him. He looked like I had slapped him. He actually took a step back. "Fine Lizzy, I think it's for the best that we don't get too close. I'm sorry." "Yeah me too for ever thinking you cared." "Lizzy..." I walked away. As soon I was out of view I could feel the tears flowing steadily. I went around the house and headed towards the road. My crutches slipped on gravel. I fell and landed on the ground. I couldn't get up because one of my crutches was out of reach. I cursed under my breath. "Liz, are you okay?" Max asked. He appeared out of nowhere. "DON'T CALL ME THAT! I'm fine, just stuck." Max grabbed my hand and helped me steady myself. As he went to get the crutch he noticed it was broken. "What were you doing?" "I was coming to see you." I was shaking with anger that one crutch broke and It had to be Max that came to the rescue. "Come on, let me help you." "Leave me alone." I became very aware that I probably looked horrific from crying. "You're not going to be able to get home on only one." I started to try. I would've fallen and hit the ground had Max not been there to catch me. "Fine." We started walking. "What did you want to ask me?" "I don't care what my father says." He kissed me and I melted.
