The waitress looke horrifed and apologized profusely, I just pulled my hood up and looked down. Max assured the waitress there was no harm and offered her his number. I snorted when I heard that, Player much? Once everything had been cleaned up we lapsed into a weird silence."There they are." I looked up and saw Brett. They? There was only Brett. Max got up and started to talk to Bret. They stood in the doorway. "Excuse me? I'm alive but squished." Max and Bret moved to the side chuckling. She walked in drenched,"You know It's bad enough you wouldn't let me in, but the fact that it's raining is NOT helping your case." I immediately recognized Belle. Belle took her now soaked jacket and threw it at brett and Max who were now wet as well. She turned and saw me."Bret! she's here. She really is here." They walked over and Max slipped out. "Hey, Lizzy. Are you gonna eat that?" She pointed to a muffin that I just noticed. "Be my guest." She slipped into the seat next to me and started tearing into the muffin."Lizzy thinks you're revolting." My older 18-year-old cousin said. "I do not." I grabbed a napkin and handed it to her. She was 14. "I only just noticed that you were here with Max, what were you doing?" Her eyes filled with jealousy. "Oh, not this again. Belle thinks Max is lovely," Brett said rolling his eyes. "I do not." She said but the degree of redness her face was at told a differemnt story. "Oh come off it he's never gonna notice you." His words were sharp but in a gentle tone. They looked at me for an answer. I paused unsure of how to answer, but I eventually decided to tell them the truth. "Andi, He wanted to know who I was and we got to talking about you and your family." "Max used to come around all the time considering he lives right by us." Belle said. That surprised me. I knew he was friends with Andi but I would have never imagined that he was close with all of them."Mum stopped wanting people around when Andi died." "But things are almost back to normal. Except Max hasn't come back." "Andi's death crushed mum. If only Andi had thought about us before she dived off the cliff." Belle gave a gasp of outrage. "Brett!" "Do you think it was deliberate?" I questioned. "No one knows for sure but everyone assumes it was suicide." "That's what crushes mom. She assumes Andi was unhappy and she feels like she failed as a mother." Belle answered sadly. "Anyway, what we should be talking about is, you. How is life in the USA? What do you so there? I wish I could go there!" I owed it to them they told me a lot. I barely paid attention to what I was saying. All I had on my mind was trying to figure out what I could do to figure out what happened. Because It was very clear that there was something hiding in the depths when it came to Andi's death. After talking with them a bit, the rain had slowed and I headed to where we were staying, I wouldn't be able to call it home, at least not for a while. "Did you meet anyone?" "Nobody really just Bret and Belle." I said smirking. My mother set her dishes down with a clatter. "What did you talk about?" "She said madly. Luckily the door came to my rescue with a knock. I opened it and saw a girl about my age. "Hi, I'm Jolie. I was Andi's best friend. I heard you were in town. I was wondering if you wanted to go on a walk?" I happily agreed because it was an excuse to get away from my mother and her questions. We set out towards the seafront. "I'm gonna introduce you to the people worth knowing in Dinan. Oh my god" She said smacking her head. "I totally forgot to t=ask your name. I'm so sorry." I smiled, "My name is Lizzy, short for elizabeth. What was Andi like?" I questioned, hoping she would say something about her since everyone else kept their mouths shut about her. She happily chatted on about Andi, how she loved art and poetry. She was very kind and admiring. By the time we got to the seafront I wished I had known her. "She sounds wonderful." Hurt flashed through her eyes. She sighed, "She was. She didn't deserve what happened to her." "What exactly happened?" She visibly stiffened, "Well you know the story." She snapped. She quickly steered the topic away from andi's death. My mind swirled with questions. I had way to many questions and not nearly enough answers. But one thing was for sure everyone in Dinan had secrets.I was determined to figure out 1. The secret and key to Andi's death.
