I turn around to see...

"Asgore?" I whispered mostly to myself. He started smiling but everybody started to panic and back up. His broken smile changed to a worried frown.

"Do not worry, I am not here to harm you. I know Gaster isn't going to be here for a while, I wanted to see how you guys where doing without him around." He remains were he stood, afraid that if he got any closer it would panic everybody again. "You guys look a lot happier." he says softly. "I'm glad." he whispers.

I was still standing in the spot were I was going to make a toast, my body just slumped from surprise. I regain my posture and look at Asgore, gaining his attention. "Come, join us. We have enough food for you." he looks at me and at the floor were the food laid. 'Ah yeah, he's a king, he doesn't eat from the floor.' I face palm and feel my cheeks go red from embarrassment 'Now he will think we all typically eat from the floor. He will judge us." my brain continued to ramble about the situation without realizing some glares coming from behind. Asgore slowly approached the group slowly, sitting down right next to me.

Some people shot him glares, others just waved. I was still standing as I looked at everybody. "Since today will be our (last) thanksgiving." I whisper last to myself. "We should go around and share one thing we're thankful for." everybody smiled nodding their heads in agreement and some making positive comments. "I'll go first. I'm thankful that we've been giving this week to ourselves, and that the king came to spend time with us." I look beside me, towards Asgore, and smile. He smiles back, a genuine smile, though his pained eyes still held sadness.

Victoria: "I am thankful for my little mice for keeping me company in my cell. They deserve a plate from us, those little mice could chew Gaster's cables." she cackles in a sinister way.

Kaylah: "I am thankful for the food in front of us, and that we are still alive." she says calmly.

Raven: "I am thankful for this week, I am also thankful for meeting everybody in this room, I love all of you" she says fiddling with her fork.

Daniel: "I am thankful I get to be with the people I love as well." he says casually looking over at Kaylah.

Mia: "I am thankful for the food, and you guys also yeah. But mostly the food." she says eyeing the food with anticipation.

Papyrus: "I AM THANKFUL FOR GASTER!" everybody uncomfortably shifted in their sears as paps said that "I WOULDN'T HAVE MET ANY OF YOU WITHOUT HIM! I WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN MET MY BROTHER." everybody relaxes and agrees with him.

Nicole: "I am thankful for the skelebros! They're awesome! And I'm also thankful for my loud mouth. Because if it wasn't for my loud mouth, you guys wouldn't have met the skelebros." she snickers.

sans: he looks around the room not really sure what to say. "I am also thankful for her loud mouth." he says panicking, everybody laughs, Papyrus putting a hand on his shoulder so sans would relax. "I am thankful for my brother and Nicole as well, for making my brother happy."

Asgore was the last person who hadn't said anything. I wasn't expecting him to share actually, there's nothing for him to be thankful about. But then he speaks up. "I am thankful that despite the cloud sadness that surrounds us all, we can make a little sunshine to brighten our days. I am thankful because your sunshine is bright enough to warm up my heart that has been slowly covering with ice this days." he looks at me in the eyes "But mostly I am thankful that you let me join you for this dinner." he smiles a goofy, yet genuine, smile. A couple of tears rolling down his face.

I don't know why, because I haven't done this before to anybody in this room in the last couple of years, but I leaned into Asgore arms open for a hug. He hugged me back patting my back, and me patting his fur. Then I push him back and look at his face, wiping away his tears. Papyrus, Victoria, Raven, and Nicole were hugging him from the back. Everybody went back to their seats and a comfortable 30 seconds of silent passed by as we all calmed our emotions down.

"Well, let's dig in." I say and every one cheers, grabbing their plates and serving themselves. This day was awesome. I hope Asgore can stay a little bit longer though, I don't want him to leave in his state of sadness. I know never to let a depressed person leave until they've gotten better, and that is what I plan to do.
