The other day, Hailey and I went back to normal-- o ako lang ang nag-iisip na hindi normal ang napag-usapan namin no'ng nakaraan tungkol kay Zen? I don't know but because of that, I feel like I want to take back the deal I had with Zen... about the date thingy.

Tama naman kasi si Hailey. Hindi rin maganda kung magda-date kami ni Zen pagkatapos ay nasa iisang organisasyon lang kami. So I think I have to distance myself from now on.

Kung may gusto man si Hailey sa kan'ya, go.

"Here is my cat."

Napangiti agad ako nang dalhin ni Claudius sa harapan ko ang isang malaki at mabalahibong puting pusa-- si Elizabeth.

"Hello, Elizabeth..." kapansin-pansin ang kulay asul na mata nito, halata rin ang pagka-malambing.

Ngayog araw nakuha ni Claudius si Elizabeth kay Hailey. Ngayong araw din n'ya ako pinapunta rito sa mansion n'ya para magkaroon ng monthly check up sa pusa nito. Mabuti na lang at nakadaan ako sa clinic ko kanina, nagkaroon din ako ng pagkakataong makausap si Carmille.

Sinimulan ko na ang trabaho. Una ko munang tinanong kay Claudius ang nakaraang record ni Elizabeth sa ibang clinic.

"Do you still have her health record from her previous check up? First I need to check her weight to see if it's appropriate for her age, size and breed. Can I have?"

Inabot n'ya sa 'kin ang isang card saka ko 'yun binasa. His cat's real name is Elizabeth the 3rd, four years old, pure white persian cat, has a deep blue eyes, 13 inches tall, weighing 10 pounds, no recent health issues-- in short, normal.

I did the physical examination to Elizabeth after reading her health card. Elizabeth's body condition whether she still has an appropriate body weight, her muscles condition for any muscle wasting, her haircoat if there's any excessive dryness, oiliness, shedding or abnormal hair loss. Her eyes, ears, nose, face, mouth and teeth.

After about an hour checking its overall heartbeat, lungs and body condition, I turned to faced Claudius who's seriously watching us.

"How was it?"

"Her pound was 10lb, however this time, she weigh 16 pounds which is what you called overweighted for a persian cat. Wala namang problema sa puso and lungs or in any of her organs but--- I recommend to have her wellness screening tests," I explained.

His brow knitted, "Her recent doctor doesn't mentioned about that screening tests. But what is it?"

"There are four main categories of wellness testing recommended for cats; complete blood count, biochemistry profile, urinalysis, and thyroid hormone testing. However, I advise you how extensive the testing should be. Since your cat is in middle-aged, more comprehensive testing is advisable. For her wellness screening tests it may include chest or abdominal radiographs--- x-rays to asses the size and appearance of the internal organs. We may also do radiographs of skeletal system to look for degenerative changes in the bones or joints."

"I'm impressed but why are you recommending me that?"

I shrugged, "Well since animals cannot speak and cannot tell you how they are feeling, as a result, disease may be present before you are aware of it. To further complicate matters, as part of their survival instincts, most cats will hide signs disease in the early stages." I went on, "It's up to you whether you'll take my recommendations or not. I'm just doing my job as her doctor."

Binaba n'ya si Elizabeth sa table at sandaling hinaplos ang balahibo nito bago pakawalan. Tinignan n'ya ako ng mataman.

"Of course I will take it. As long as for her good health, I'll grab it."
