Chapter 21: Who's Greedy?

The date was still going but ever since Chaeyoung texted Mina the latter couldn't stop thinking about how much she wanted to see her. And Jaemin getting cheesy with his words, flirting as a joke, made her really uncomfortable. Too hetero, she abnoxially thought.

As each second passes, Mina feels the urge to have Chaeyoung beside her, holding her, feeling the comfort and relaxation between her arms. She thought she was going crazy with her thoughts. Why Chaeyoung and why not Samo? Chaeyoung couldn't be a better friend than both of them, no? It must've been something else but only that did not jump into Mina's thoughts before.

For all she knew was, she felt desperate to see Chaeyoung.

"Excuse me, I have to use the restroom." Mina excused herself nervously and Jaemin just nods.

She enters the restroom and takes her phone out. If she doesn't do it now she'll go insane. She dials a contact number and waits for the latter to pick up.

Not two seconds after the called person accepted the call.

"Mina. Why'd you call? Is everything okay?"

The way she sounded calm yet concerned with her husky voice ringing through Mina's ears so freely like that made the Japanese girl skip more than just a heartbeat.

"A-Are you still free to pick me up?" Mina accidentally stutters.

Chaeyoung on the other line frowns, "Of course. But why now? Mina, are you alright? Please answer me."

"I'm alright, fluffy."

Chaeyoung sighed in relief. She was too worried just now, fidgeting from her seat firmly. But then she remembered, "But aren't you both still mid-date?"

When Chaeyoung said that Mina internally panicked for that she had not prepared a proper response to that. Therefore, awkward silence took over.

Chaeyoung noticed so she chuckled breaking the ice like the professional girl she is. "What, what? Missing me already? It's only been few hours. tsk, are you greedy?"

Mina subconsciously smiled.

"I guess I'm greedy."

Chaeyoung laughed. "I'll be there in two minutes." Mina nodded even though Chaeyoung cannot see her, yet.

"Bye bye. Mina squealed like a baby before she ends the call. (I think you can all imagine that well)

Mina goes back to their table and finds Jaemin fidgeting with his fingers. "I'm back."

Jaemin's eyes widen and looks up at Mina. He's happy that she's back because he was really nervous with the thought of her trying to avoid him.

"Ah, Mina. Where do you wanna go after?" He grinned sheepishly. Mina looked at him with a straight face that made him drop his smile and look at her firmly. "Actually Jae...."

Jaemin's lips were parted. He widened his eyes and shaked his hands quickly. "No no no. I-It's fine..  y-you have somewhere else to go, right? We could just do that some other time..."

Silence around the table.

"....i-if you want." He mumbled in a low sad tone.

"I'm sorry, Jaemin." She looked at him with pity. He widened his eyes again and chuckled nervously "Why are you apologizing. It's fine, really." He scratched his nape "I also have something to do. J-Jeno wanted to meet, I almost forgot. You don't have to worry about that, Mina. I'm busy too."
