"I don't know who you been dealing with but I,
Guarantee you that you ain't been with this, because
If you had you'll forget about the past."Friday had finally arrived, and the anticipation between Jazelle and Blaze was intense. They had planned to meet that night, carving out a rare moment of privacy amidst the chaos of their lives. But, as fate would have it, Jasai had called an unexpected team meeting at the exact time they intended to link up. It seemed like a coincidence, but to them, it was an inconvenient twist of time that threatened to cut into their precious moments together.
The meeting felt like an unwanted hurdle, a barrier between them, and the night they had been eagerly awaiting.
"Thank you all for coming on such short notice," Jasai announced as he entered the room, Jazelle right behind him. They took their seats in front of Blaze, Flaco, and Reese. Jasai's gaze flicked toward his sister. "I won't keep y'all too long since someone here is rushing me..." He shot Jazelle a playful side-eye.
Jazelle cleared her throat, trying to mask her impatience. "Thanks to Reese, we've finalized our numbers, and the results are better than we expected. With his negotiation skills, he managed to get the buyer to purchase the pieces for triple their value."
The room buzzed with low murmurs of surprise and admiration.
"Which means," Jazelle continued, her voice steady and authoritative, "Each of you will receive a significant sum. Flaco already has the money en route. Due to the large amount, we've set up a system where the funds will be distributed in smaller increments over the next few days to various accounts Flac has arranged. Your final total should be $450,000 each."
"Sheesh!" Reese's grin stretched from ear to ear. They had made millions before, but this was the biggest payout from a single mission.
Blaze rubbed his hands together, his thoughts drifting to his family. With this kind of money, he could finally put more towards helping his mom and sister despite their strained relationship. He also considered investing in a place of his own, preferably one Tatiana knew nothing about.
"I couldn't believe the numbers when I saw them myself." Flaco leaned back in his chair, hands clasped behind his head, a look of disbelief still etched on his face. "I can finally pay off my brother's private school tuition. Thanks, Jai."
Jasai nodded, his usual stoic demeanor softening as he acknowledged the team's hard work. "Y'all don't need to thank me. You did this, and you did it fucking well." Jazelle nodded in agreement beside him, her presence commanding respect. Since joining the team, she had become a force to be reckoned with—her strategic mind and calm authority earned her admiration from Blaze, Flaco, and Reese. They increasingly saw her as more than just Jasai's sister; she was a leader in her own right.
"But with that said," Jasai continued, "We're going on a six-month hiatus."
The announcement caught everyone off guard, except for Jazelle, who remained unfazed. "We need to lay low," She added, her tone firm and confident. "This heist was risky, and while we succeeded, it's made us a topic of conversation in certain circles. We'll use the next six months to stay under the radar and prep for our next move, making sure it's as seamless as possible."
