12. Heartbroken

Annabeth's POV

Literally, almost being stabbed by the best friend of your school hurts a lot. After Steven showed his true colours, I and Percy got busy in fighting his skeletal warriors. Suddenly, a skeletal warrior came I front of me and somehow it had a spider in an eye socket. It made my blood cold. I screamed and my dagger dropped. I stood there frozen. Then, it locked my hands from behind and shoves the spider off. Steven came towards me and placed my sword at my throat. I saw Percy stood there helpless. He was pinned down on the ground and Steven said, ". "I told you, I know your two weak spots. The Achilles heel and your beloved, Annabeth." he raised his sword to stab me. I was about to die and praying to Athena and the other gods to save me.

I think they heard me. Moments before Steven pierced his sword towards my stomach, another back sword interrupted blocking its way. Then it shoved Steven's sword away towards Percy. The sword holder was none other than Nico. I was never so happy to see him, although I wasn't able to show it. As I turned towards Percy and saw Mrs. O'Leary pounced over the skeletal warriors holding Percy. When I turned towards Steven, Nico hit his head with the hilt of his sword and pinned him down to the ground His eyes...his eyes had changed. It did not give the friendly and loving feeling anymore. It was more of an I-will-kill-you type of feeling. I was feeling really weak. Percy came running to me and I collapsed in his arms.

When I came back to my senses, I was in the Infirmary. Percy was talking to...Wait...Will Solace? What is he doing here? "Percy" I muttered weakly. Percy came running towards me. "Annabeth, you need to rest. We have fed you some nectar. Will said you collapsed because of a mild shock. The whole gang is here. Will has managed to get a leave from the school for today. We will be heading home now.

Will and Percy helped me to go to the parking. We found the whole gang from CHB in there. After we had a talk and somehow escaping Clarisse's awkward questions, we headed for home in cab. I fell asleep on Percy's shoulder.

I woke up on my bed. As far as I remembered, I was in the cab. How on earth did I end up on my bed? I noticed something else, which was way too much awkward. I was not wearing the jeans and the grey t-shirt I was wearing before. I was in a blue t-shirt with my pj shorts. As I checked further, my inner garments were also changed. Holy Hades, did Percy bring me here and change me into my night dress? What if he did...?

As all types of awkward questions buzzed in my head, Percy entered the room with a tray full of bread, butter, jam, boiled eggs and milk. He smiled at me when he saw that I was awake. Welcome home sleepy head. Thank gods you are awake. He placed the tray on the study table and leaned for a kiss. I pushed him away and glared at him.

"Percy, answer me honestly, how did I get in the bed?" I said while glaring at him.

"Annabeth, please don't mind, but I literally carried your heavy body in here." Percy said blushing.

"Did you change my clothes? And, did you do...you know what to me?"

"No, of course not Annabeth. Mrs. Chase changed your clothes. I was standing outside. And..." Percy Blushed even harder "I would never do it to you without your permission. You can trust me about that. Eat up while it's still hot."

Percy went towards the door. At the door, he turned around and said, "Annabeth, I didn't even sleep with you while you were asleep. I spent last night on the couch. I thought it would be inappropriate to sleep without your permission. Also, believe me, I had no choice but to carry you to your room as you were not waking up and no one in your family could have carried you. I really had no choice...." he sighed and left, closing the door behind him. I was feeling really guilty after he left. I should have trusted my seaweed brain. After all, we had been through so much together. But now, I suspected him to actually do it without my permission.

I was really sad. I broke his heart. He was so gloomy while he left. I felt sad and lay down, before drifting into sleep.

Hello guys, I uploaded today....well you already know it. Well, the thing is, I will not be able to upload for a week as my exams are beginning. so, my exams begin on 19 August 2020. It will end on 1st September. i am a little bit freaked out as well as there are harsh rules for these stupid online exams. This the last chapter I have written till now. After 1st September, I have to write a new chapter and then upload. so, hopefully, you will get a new chapter on September 3, 2020 at 12:30 IST(Indian Standard Time). so wait till then.
