10. A Friend, becoming a Foe

As we neared the maths class, I was still angry at that jerk whom Annabeth called Nick. I wonder why she was so scared when he first arrived. When he was about to kiss her, she didn't resist. She was frozen in fear. I pulled Annabeth aside from the door of the maths room again and asked her why she was so scared about Nick. As I asked her, I could see that she became hesitant and was trying to get into the class. When I insisted, she said, "Percy, something happened between Nick and me, something that I do not usually speak about even with my friends, something that made him my worst enemy of all. As you are my boyfriend and my BFF, I am obliged to share everything with you, but this is not the right place and time. Let's attend the maths class. I hope that Nick doesn't show up here as well."

Her eyes were filling with tears, so I loosened my grip on her. She gave a peck on my lips and pulled me to the maths room.

Mr. Abbott was still teaching that Pythagoras's theorem. Booooorrrrriiiiiinnnnngggg." But I tried to stay away this time. Annabeth would glare at me whenever I felt my eyes heavy. Then suddenly, after the 14th time in five minutes when I almost dozed off, Annabeth whispered in my ears, "Percy, no kisses for the day if you sleep in the maths class." She gave a proud smile to me. This got me. I managed to stay awake for the rest of the maths class. Although, I understood nothing.

The bell rang and the students along with Mr. Abbott rushed outside. Only I and Annabeth were left. As Annabeth was packing, I was ready to go, because, I only had an empty notebook with me. I turned to Annabeth while smiling and said, "I was awake the whole time, now where is my reward?"

"What reward? Uh.."She faltered "common Percy this is not the place to make out you kn—" I stopped her my crashing my lips on her. Our kiss lasted a minute and then she pushed me away. She said while gasping for air. "Percy stop, why are you doing this in here?" she was smiling. She enjoyed it, even if she did not want to admit. Then all of a sudden, a familiar voice shouted from the other end of the class, "WHY ARE YOU HARRASSING HER?" It was Steven. All this while, I did not notice that Steven did not leave the class as well. He rushed towards us, grabbed Annabeth's arm, and dragged her away from me, then landed a punch in my face. I fell on the ground. I was losing my patience.

Steven sat on me and kept on punching me. Although it did not hurt, yet it was annoying. He said while punching, "Tarsus was right, you were indeed an evil demigod. You try to harass Annabeth. You are an evil bastard." This triggered me. I got his face with both of my hands and swirled him. He got toppling down towards the end of the classroom, knocking every bench in the way.

I was ready to kill him. I did not even look at Annabeth. I was not 'harassing' her. We are an official boyfriend and girlfriend. I have the right to say that. What is this idiot demigod who seems to be the son of Hades thinks of himself?

Steven slowly got up. But this time, he did not look innocent. He had an evil smile on his face. He said, "Percy Jackson, you were right about me being the son of Hades. Tarsus told me all about you and Annabeth. He told me that you are the reason for my misery. Only for you, I am standing here heartbroken." He slowly pulled out a black sword that looked like Nico's sword, except, it was a little bit bigger. He still had that evil smile. His black eyes were filled with anger and it seemed he could vaporize anyone with them. He swirled around his sword, and that shadow started to grow around him.

I took out my trusted riptide from my pocket in the pen form and uncapped it. The sword came out and shining brightly. Seeing this his smile got more evil. He said, "It will be a fight to remember, Percy Jackson. Tarsus told me all about your strengths and weaknesses. I know two of your weakest points, which could come in handy." Well, he had somehow come to know about my Achilles heel. But what was my second weak spot? And who was this tarsus guy? How did he know so much about me? And why is he helping Steven to kill me? Why am I always messing with the Hades kids?

"Why are trying to kill Percy? He is not evil." Annabeth said. She had her dagger in her hand, ready for a fight "He was not harassing me, he will never do. If I deny kissing him, he will never force me. How do you know Tarsus and... you said you are heartbroken? Does that mean you.."

"Stop Annabeth" Steven disrupted "you cannot change the past, but I will make a better future by killing him."

He dashed towards me with his sword raised. I also charged him. Our swords met with a clink. I pushed his sword away and kicked his belly." He was gasping in pain. But he still had the power to fight. He said, "Percy, I know you are invincible. But I am not weak. I can control my powers thanks to my father." Saying this, his hands went up in the air. I must admit, he has improved quite a lot in a day as the ground started to crack and a dozen skeleton warriors sprawled to life.

The skeleton army attacked me and Annabeth. We were fighting the army. I cut half each skeleton warrior with my sword. But they kept growing. Then I heard a scream which made my heart skip a beat. Behind me, a skeleton warrior grabbed Annabeth from her arms, and next to her; Steven was standing with his sword raised to her throat. "I told you, I know you two weak spots. The Achilles heel and your beloved, Annabeth." he gave that evil smile at me again. I stood there helpless as the skeleton warriors surrounded me and pinned me to the ground. One bone hand grabbed my hair and pulled up my head so that I was facing Annabeth and Steven. His smile became a grin. He said, "If she is not mine, she is no one's". He pulled his sword back to stab Annabeth.

"NOOOO" I screamed helplessly. Gods, please help me save Annabeth...

here goes the 10th chapter. I have come a long way here. more than 10000 words already written. But there is a bad news. My exams are beginning from August 19. I will not be able to upload twice a week. i will try to upload once a week. But no worries, as I will return to the story as soon my exams are over. meanwhile, you can check some other really great stories in Wattpad. I will upload this Thursday, and then I will try to upload once  week from the next week. Till then
