3rd Person POV

Lucky was probably the most unlucky person. Named because her parents wanted her to be reminded every day she was Lucky to be alive. They died when she was just a few months old and was raised by the only pack member who has truly cared about her, Margaret.

When she was little the abuse started out as only cruel words and the occasional slap. When she turned 5 she was put to work instead of school. Although Margaret taught he to read, write and sign language as well as whatever else she could. Pretty soon after that the slaps turned into fists and eventually claws and weapons. By the time she was 14 her back was covered in scars from the whips and knives they used to torture and punish her. The night of her 14th birthday would be one she would never forget as it was the first time she was raped.

The Alpha's son Roland had his 18th birthday party a month before and did not find his mate. Lucky believed he did not deserve one as he was the cruelest man she had ever met and she met a lot. He was pissed off and drunk as he stumbled down to the basement to torture her. This would have been the fifth day in a row. But as he looked over the maturing girl he thought of a better torture and the perfect birthday present. He raped her repeatedly the entire night and day of her birthday and even brought other males to join in.

Each year the tradition was continued on her birthday. Soon it started to grown to a day before her birthday than the entire week. Eventually as the year went by with Roland still mateless he raped her whenever he wanted too. But the week of her birthday was a continuous flow of male after male.

She had tried to run before her 18th birthday but was caught easily by Roland. He did not appreciate his toy trying to run away and after that day she was chained in the cellar and forced to wear a silver collar when she was let out to clean the house.

She prayed every day and night for someone to save her but anytime someone visited from another pack she was locked in the cellar until they left. She never understood why but never asked. She dreamed of the day she could hear the birds outside and feel the wind on her skin. Hopefully she would at least get the latter at some point as she would never hear the birds. The only time she ever heard someone else was when they linked her to clean something, yell at her or call her names. Her wolf began to hardly talk to her and she could not blame her. Although she had been hearing this voice whispering every once in a while to run or hide. It usually happened right before Roland would show up but she figured it was all in her head.

Luckily she finally listened to that voice when it yelled at her. Lucky may actually be lucky after all.
