My Unexpected Wife- 17 The engagement

Pentagon Dark hotel ,the venue of the said party. Rhianna was invited with his bestfriend , When she  roaming around her  eyes widened how extravagant does the party.

"So beautiful ", she whispered.  This must be the most  luxurious party she  ever attended.

When she arrived ,this woman caught attention to all the visitors inside.
As she walk with her white off shoulder satin dress the man catch her attention and keep on staring at her. Hinanap nang kanyang mga mata ang host nang engagement party at nakita niya na sumalubong ito nang may ngiti.

"Congratulation! ", she smile.

Thank you for attending our engagement ceremony. Dark and I are so happy that you're here with us. May I propose a toast everyone. For the start of our new life, for love, and for the family! Cheers!" the endearing girl proposed as she raised her glass with a beaming smile.

On the other side the tailored business suit, appeared to be uneasy. Looking at him, one would know that he was not happy. Instead of fixing his eyes on his radiant fiancee, he fixed his eyes on a woman. With a simple shove of his hand, he tried to withdraw his hand from his wife-to-be, but the latter tightened her grip.

"Dark!" The elegant middle-aged woman beside him called out his name casually, warning him to behave properly. Her voice was filled with smirk and a tinge of displeasure.

The woman's voice pulled Dark back from his thoughts. Holding on to his glass, he shifted his gaze from that girl to his fiancee reluctantly.

Forcing a faint smile on his face, he greeted his fiancee parents respectfully, "Dad, Mom."

Despite his mother's thugs and warns, he couldn't stop himself from stealing glances at that woman occasionally.

"What are you doing, and her fiancée are making a toast. Lift your glass, for goodness sake!" who kept a low profile trying to be invisible. She handed a glass of alcohol to the woman.

"Kerstin thank you for coming here," said in a soft tone as she raised her glass.

Looking up at Dark and her fiancee she scoffed in her heart, 'One is handsome, and the other is pretty. An evil man and a bad woman. They are perfect for each other.'

A faint smile climbed up the corners of her lips. Her smile was so dazzling that no one could look away from her whenever she flashed her perfect teeth. She said, "Congratulations! May you live happily forever!" With one swift swig, she gulped down her drink.

"Thank you, Kerstin, For sure I and Dark will live a happy life," replied sweetly, leaning her head on Dark shoulder like a kitten. With that, she shifted her gaze from her fiancee towards . She gave her a stare and looked at her from head to foot.

Feeling insulted by her criticizing stare, Dark gave a wider and merrier smile in response to her challenging behavior.

Taken aback for a moment, Kerstin took a deep breath and joined her parent  as they returned to their seats. When she faced her parents, her lips curved into a scoff. 'I know what they are up to.

Out of the blue, her head was throbbing. She held her head with her hands, and a surge of heat ran through her body. 'What's going on. I am feeling dizzy. And my headache is killing me. ,

I only had one drink. There is no way that I would be tipsy, ' she wondered, trying to keep sober.

When she leave the party and going to her car and In a flash, the bodyguards, who had been hesitating, charged forward, grabbed Kerstin forcefully and dragged her away.

Not believing her eyes, Kerstin flailed and kicked, but to no avail. "Oh, Daddy I request only one minute, please. Only a few words with you," she pleaded.

At this moment, a bodyguard threw a punch at her face. She gave a choked cry; that really stung. She broke free from their grasp and ran after Dark again. "

But the look that Mister Dark gave her was so cold, you'd be forgiven for thinking she was a total stranger to him.

Rhianna ?' The woman next to Mister Sky furrowed her eyebrows when she heard the name.

Right at that moment, Mister Sky car came over and stopped, only a few meters from them. The bodyguards pounced on her again.

Despite her protests and struggling, they dragged Rhianna away. The same brusque guy that had slapped her now hit her hard on the shoulder, sending her down to the ground with a thud.

As if in a rescue operation, the bodyguards whisked and his woman to the car. As one of the men opened the door for them, Mister Sky got in without so much as looking back.

Rhianna couldn't believe her eyes.

As soon as they were safely seated, the driver started the engine and drove off. Quickly, all the bodyguards got into other cars and followed.

Seeing her daddy leave, Rhianna lost her head. Determined she stood up from the ground and clutching at her hemline, she ran after his car. "Daddy" she shouted. "You can't just leave like that! "Daddy.." she screamed at the top of her lungs.

'I can't let him leave me again! Come what may, I'll get him!' she thought. Running fast as she could, she ignored the pebbles, some dangerously sharp and protruding on her path. Passersby watched curiously, but the barefooted woman in a red evening dress didn't mind their surprise.

She ignored everything, ignored their questions and strange gazes that bore into her back. Even the pain shooting through the soles of her soft feet, now bleeding, she completely ignored.

To her , no matter how fast she ran, Mister Sky and his team were gaining speed. .

Soon, their taillights disappeared in the distance leaving her gasping for air on this dark night. Staring at the stars in the sky, she wanted to hold back her emotions, but failed.

Crouching on the ground, she covered her face with both hands and broke into tears, weeping uncontrollably.

The chilling cold in Dark eyes still lingered on her mind. Do i know him? , for all the time they had been together?

Inside the car

Katarina held Dark hand tightly, lost in thought.

She stole glances at Dark  from time to time. He too seemed to mull over something. And that only worried her more.

After a long silence, she finally spoke, feigning a nonchalant voice. "Dark who was that woman? She must be someone well known to you."

Shaking his head Dark  answered shortly, "I don't know her."

Somehow relieved, Shayne got rested her head on his shoulder. "Really? I thought you were cheating on me."

Sky lowered his eyes to look at her and lightly cautioned, "Stop kidding."

" This has been long coming, and I'm careful about a lot of things," Shayne grumbled, avoiding eye contact to conceal her true feelings.

"Don't worry," he assured softly.

When they arrived at the hotel, old Larrazabal walked her wife in room before coming back to his business meeting.

Staring out of the window, he briefly savored the spectacular night sky. Tonight, the stars shone with resplendence. As he loosened his tie, he pulled out his phone and call. However, as he stared at his phone, Dark recalled the woman. Annoyed, both at his failing memory and at the woman for showing up to remind him of his current predicament. Shaking off hateful thoughts, he threw his phone onto the bed and walked towards the bathroom.

Straight away, Rhianna had checked into the hospital to have her feet treated before going home. By the time she got to the house, its early in the morning.

First thing, she went to his son's room. Kissing her little bundle of joy lightly on the forehead, she murmured,

"I love you baby Trevone", she whisper to his baby full of love.
