🐈‍⬛ Part 7: The Dwarf Mines

♡ Elena's pov:

When we arrived we were in a forest, and not the friendly kind. It was dark, windy, and cold. Not the best combination for someone wearing short sleeves.

"So this is the Dwarf's Mine... it used to be prosperous thanks to the magic crystal mining but..."
Deuce stopped, I think we all know what happened to it.

The wind started to pick up, dang it, I'n already freezing thanks to this darn short sleeved shirt! I should've worn my ceremonial robes.....

"A-achoo~" I sneezed softly, then all of a sudden, Ace and Grim started to laugh their heads off while Deuce... actually Deuce was covering his face so I couldn't tell what he was doing.

"Awwww is someone gonna catch a cold in this weather~" Grim teased.

"N-no! I certainly will not!" I replied quickly. It's not my fault it was freezing.

Ace chuckled.
"Awww is someone embarrassed~ I must admit though, that was probably one of the cutest sneezes I've heard."

I looked at him confused.
"Can we just focus on the mission at hand?"
Also, did Ace just call my sneeze cute? I've always found it strange when people found stuff like this "cute", but I won't question it.

Deuce then took off his jacket and handed it to me quickly,
"Here you can take my jacket, we don't need you to get sick now."

"Oh thank you Deuce!" I quickly put on his jacket, it was a bit big but that's fine. "Now let's head to the house, maybe we could ask them about the mine."

We started to walk towards the house, it was a cottage, looked kinda empty though. Deuce knocked on the door.

"Good evening!" He shouted, "I guess it's abandoned. It's a mess in here..." he opened the door to reveal a horrid smell rotting wood.

"Dear lord..... it looks even worse than Rameshackle dorm." I said as we started to look around the cottahe.

"Pwah." Grim shouted as he turned to face us "I got a spider web in the face... Peh, peh!" I watched as the raccoon tried to spit out the cobwebs from his mouth, disgusting to say the least.

"Aren't the chairs on the small side? Are they for kids?" Ace asked curiously while examining the chairs, they were pretty small.

I looked at him and sighed,
"Is that really what your worrying about right now? Let's just head to the mines."

Ace stood up.
"Ok then, let's just go."

We arrives at the entrance of the coal mine, it was.... very dark to say the least. Trees's overtook the top of the entrance and all the rocks were covered in dark green moss. Not very friendly looking.

"W-We're going in that a pitch black hole?" Grim asked in a scared tone, I don't blame him this place looked creepy as heck.

"Scared? Lame." Ace said.

Grim retaliated with,
"Naaanh!? I'm not scared at all!"

"Then please lead the way." I asked.

"Fine, let's go!" Grim started to walk down the mine and we followed him.

It was a decent way down, I didn't really have a good feeling about this, let's just hope we can grab the crystal and book it out of here.

".. wait."
Deuce said as he put his hand in front of us.

"What's wrong?" Ace asked.

Deuce was silent for a moment, his tone didn't sound good.
"Something.... is here!"
