Chapter 2 - The Den

Natasha's POV

The ladies and I got back quite late last night so I thought that they would be sleeping in but I couldn't stop thinking about The Hangman how different he was.

I looked at my clock and it read 5:24 figured I might as well get out of bed. I quickly got changed and headed out of my room and into the kitchen where I saw Steve in there eating Rice Krispies cereal.

Steve: Morning Nat

Nat: Morning Steve

I went and put some bread into the toaster and putting the kettle onto boil before taking a seat opposite Steve.

Steve: How was Ladies night?

Nat: Fun until some jerk who hit on us pulled a gun on us when we were on the way back to the tower.

Steve's eyes widened, he was always concerned for our wellbeing.

Steve: Are you guys alright? What happened?

Nat: Jerk was drunk and was very persistent then pulled a gun on us but he was disarmed by.... The Hangman.

Steve: The Hangman, you ran into him?

Nat: Yeah, he helped us. Broke the bastards jaw.

Steve: Language, I rolled my eyes at him. We've seen the people he's killed and the people he's helped put away, not sure he's entirely a good guy. You've seen him up close, your thoughts?

Nat: He seems alright, a surprisingly nice guy.

Steve: Anything off to you?

Nat: Think he's got a troubled past like most of us.

Steve: Fair enough, we've been trying to find him for years.

Nat: I'm calling a meeting this morning to discuss it with the team.

Steve: Good job Romanoff

Nat: When do I not do a good job? But in all fairness this was very much a chance encounter.

Steve: Seems that way

Timeskip to 09:30AM

The meeting room was full with everyone seated except for me - Steve, Tony, Thor, Bruce, Clint,Wanda, Carol, Bucky, Sam, Pietro, Peter, Hill and Fury.

Fury: Romanoff, what have you got for us?

Nat: Wanda, Carol, Pepper and I ran into the Hangman last night. He gave us a few hints as to where to find him. He told us that we could find him at this place called the Den up in Wakefield in the Bronx.

Wanda: I tried to read him but I couldn't get anything from him.

Fury: Well if Maximoff couldn't get anything from him then it's imperative that you find him, see if you can get him on our side.

Bruce: What does this guy look like?

Nat: We've all seen the outfit he wears but he said that the guy under the mask will be there. I could only see the top part of his face but he had (H/C) hair, smooth (S/C) skin and (E/C) eyes.

Sam: That doesn't really narrow it down in New York.

Nat: He was also English

Thor: That narrows it down

Tony immediately stands up and puts his fist into the air and yells

Tony: AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!

We all look at him as if he was the biggest idiot in the room (which he was)
