Chapter 6 - Basketball

Normal POV

Y/N went back to his room to get changed back into the clothes he had sparred with Natasha in earlier in the day.

Y/N: Great I'm gonna need another shower

Y/N then asked J.A.R.V.I.S where the basketball court was and found all the guys waiting to get started whilst the girls were sitting on a bench to the side.

Y/N went over to the right side of the court with Bucky, Pietro, Peter and Sam whilst Bruce, Clint, Steve, Thor and Tony were on the other side of the court.

Bucky: Right so Y/N, how often do you play ball?

Y/N: Played quite a lot with some of the gang members from the Den.

Pietro: Cool

Everyone looks at him with a surprised expression to which he holds his hands up defensively

Pietro: Hey I'm just saying

Bucky: Right so I'm thinking. Sam you take Clint, Pietro you take Bruce, Peter you've got Tony , I've got Steve and Y/N you've got Thor. Everyone got it?

There were 'uhh huh's from everyone.

Sam: Alright hands on three we say....

Peter: Enthusiastically New Avengers!

Peter definitely oozed that adolescent enthusiasm towards activities he enjoyed.

Bucky: Nah that's stupid

Peter was clearly disappointed judging by the look on his face but then Y/N sees over his shoulder that the others are ready to play.

Y/N: Well the others are ready so unless anyone's got anything better let's go with it.

Bucky and Sam groan

Y/N: Alright on three. 1....2.....3

Pietro/Sam/Bucky/Peter/Y/N: New Avengers!!!

God it did sound kinda stupid out loud, but Y/N wasn't about to crush Peter's spirit, and clearly the other guys thought so too as they were shaking their heads.

Tony then stepped out and announced the rules

Tony: Alright fellas, standard basketball rules, the main rule No Powers alright? J.A.R.V.I.S will referee.

Everyone understood the rules and took their positions as Steve and Bucky went for the tip off.

Clint: Who's throwing the ball for the tip off?

All of the guys felt really stupid for not realising this before. Then Y/N turned to the ladies sitting on the bench off to the side.

Y/N: Would one of you mind throwing the ball up in the air for the tip off please?

Natasha then stood up from her seat and sauntered over swaying her hips and put her hand on Y/N's right pectoral.

Natasha: flirtatiously Alright but only because you asked so nicely.

Y/N just smiled like he usually does and thanked her but the other guys had strange looks on their faces but quickly shrugged it off to get their game faces on.

Natasha asked if both teams were ready before counting down from three and throwing the ball up into the air before hastily making her way off the court.

Bucky won the tip off and the ball ended up with Pietro who passed to Y/N who proceeded to do a crossover between Bruce and Clint before dunking over Steve.
