A month after everything, most of us kids from that camp became friends, or at least acquaintances. Whenever one got bullied for having the guides, or the animal parts from the Ashen Tree, the others would shoot the bully down. Lefu and I found the Ashen Tree again and dug it up, moving it to my backyard. Apparently, our parents didn't know that the camp was evil, and instantly went to become friends with the other parents. For example, Perdita's parents got donations from Emily and Darions parents, and got enough money to send Perdita to a good private school. Lyssa's dad also started to get sober with the help of other dads, and eventually got her forgiveness. The parents and children that knew about the Maze of Trees camp became a huge web almost, becoming close friends instantly. Lefu decided to live with my mom and I, after much convincing towards my mom. Trevor and I let Leo and Flo have mock battles. Sometimes Lefu joined, but he mostly just watched.
"If you didn't save them, do you think you'd have to stay in the Maze? Do you think you would've turned to ash or just disappeared?" Von asked as we played video games.
"I guess I would've disappeared. Since I was a Lo-"
Von's cat guide licked my hand, surprising me and making me die in the game.
"That's cheating!" I yelled, ruffling the cats head.
Von started laughing, and so did I.
"Boy's come down for some food! I just heated pizza!" My mom called from the bottom of the stairs.
Von and I grinned at each other before rushing downstairs.
"Coming mom!"
