The laughter we shared
echoed throughout the library.
Our feelings and thoughts as transparent
as the quartz dome we were facing.
It was a beautiful thing to experience.
The feeling of belonging.
The feeling of connecting.
The feeling of family.
Perhaps I had a family too?
I just don't know of their whereabouts...
"Master, when you found me,
did I have any family with me?"
He pauses and muses
before shaking his head.
"I'm afraid not,
old friend."
Lost in thought,
I jolt to find Master looking at me
with a worried expression.
"I see."
His expression shifts to one
of curiosity, his ears perking up.
"Is this why you wanted to
visit the Quartome?..."
He looks at me,
waiting to see
if I would react negatively.
Once he was sure that he wasn't
treading on dangerous waters,
he continued.
"...To learn more about your family?"
