The way back is fairly long,
giving Master time to ramble on
about my appearance.
"Well, you resemble the critter on the tome.
Just smaller...? And you have some grass
that resembles your feathers.
That's the side effect of Sferinth."
Oh...
explains why Fawnings usually have a touch of grass on them.
"I see.
Thank you again, Master."
I unlink.
His smile is sweet as he shakes his head.
"No need to thank me."
But I do...
I have you to thank for my existence and survival...
I leave my place on Master's shoulder,
surprising him.
"Will you not have noonquet? Join me?"
Grateful for the invitation,
I resume my place on his shoulder.
"What a delight!
We're finally having noonquet together.
It's been six days since you've been
wandering off every noon."
His accuracy strikes me,
then I remember—
Virideians always count the days.
