Epilogue: Happy Ever After
Five years have passed.
The lonesome five years I've experienced. Depressed. Alone. Forgotten. Was all I felt.
The others always walked into my home without my permission but I didn't care. They would do foolish faces in front of me or disturb me from my sleep but I didn't care. I cared for nothing because the one I cared for was now gone from my arms.
I stopped being an idol, I terminated my contract three years ago. Now I was just Park Jimin, a guy all alone in this rather cruel world.
Frankly, I wasn't alone. I was never alone, to begin with because I had friends beside me caring for me and I'm making them all worried.
My fans also heard about Euhna's passing, they posted a lot of I'm sorry letters and thank you letters for her too. I was happy that they supported our relationship until the end. I'm upset it didn't last forever.
Today was one of those cold nights again here in Seoul, in the middle of the holidays. Christmas was right around the corner, I didn't think of anything to do so I just walked by a Christmas Market full of people along with the ones they'll be spending time with during Christmas and I was there, walking all alone.
I wasn't looking at my surroundings so I wasn't able to pay attention to where I was going, I bumped into a few people and just bowed then left. Until a girl bumped into me, she has the same hair as Euhna and the same voice too when she said,
"I'm sorry." She bowed and I just nodded then parted ways until I realized that she looked exactly like Euhna or no, to say it
She is the exact copy of her.
I looked back to the direction she went, she was speed walking further and further away from me. That struck me that she was really and might be Euhna so I ran without thinking. I started to run fast, pushing through the crowd.
"Wait!" I ran closer towards her when she stopped
I grabbed onto her wrist, panting, trying to catch my breath from all the running I did. She looked back when she felt my hands clenching onto her wrist, she looked up and our gazes met. Her eyes were widened with panic.
"Euhna..." I said in between my breaths
"Jimin..?" She spoke like a whisper to my ears
'It is you'
My heart regained it's long lost happiness. It was like being struck by lightning.
She knew me. She knows I'm Jimin and I know she's Euhna too...
My heart was like being lit on fire once again, it was pumping to my chest like there's no tomorrow. I unconsciously plastered a cheerful smile but she was frightened like she had seen a ghost, she was extremely pale.
I got confused but my questions were now answered when a guy walked closer to the both of us, placing his hand on her shoulder confidently and she didn't even flinch.
"Do you know him?" The man asked, she looked behind him and stuttered a response
"N-no I don't, I just bumped into him earlier and now he's holding my wrist" then I just let go, my hands back into place to the side of my hips, to where it should be
I saw that one thing and it explains everything. It wasn't the man that placed his hand on her shoulder like it's normal. It was something even more of a reason for my heart to ache and throb. Something golden just sitting calmly on her finger, all sparkly and new.
"I'm sorry for being rude, I mistook her from someone I once knew" I bowed then left
The gap between us grew bigger and bigger whenever I took a step. A huge wall at the center, keeping us from ever meeting again or rather a sharp scissor cutting the string that once held us together.
I huffed a sigh and dug my hands into my jacket. Without any warning, my tears started to roll down my cheeks, ever so slowly. I looked down to the floor and bit my lower lip, my brows furrowed to the center in sudden irritation.
Then I reached the last stall and finally walked away from the Christmas Market. I looked up to the dark, moonlit sky with scattered stars all over. And then I smiled, a relieved but hurting one.
I was neither happy nor sad, I was kinda relieved and the scary thing is that-
-I don't know why.
"You asked me if you could still be my girl in your next life but,
I guess you already found someone better than me."
I wiped away my tears. Continuing to smile at the sky, under the moon.
"But that's fine-
At least you're with someone that could be there with you and not let you go through something alone-
Someone who won't leave you like I did."
[Did you expect this sort of ending? I hope you didn't get emotional hehe, I have another ending prepared actually and I might post it later or tomorrow. I'm really really really thankful that you're reading something so crappy *cries with tears of joy* I'll always appreciate chu~]
