Surprised // A.I (completed)

I'm now at 15 weeks. I had an appointment last week but the doctor couldn't tell on the ultrasound what we were having. So they took blood and when I go back at 19 weeks, they'll know.

Our friends decided that they were going to throw us a gender reveal party so even though we can find out what we're having, we're not. The doctors going to email the gender to Grace.

My mom and Ashton's mom call us everyday for a bump date. Ashton enjoys them too. The bump is still pretty small but you can tell it's there.

Ashton woke me up bright and early this morning, full of energy. He dragged me out of bed and I'm now sitting at the kitchen table as we ate pancakes with him slyly smiling at me,

"What's up Ash?" I gave in,

"Can we go baby shopping?" He cheesed,

"You know we still have a while before the baby comes right?" I laughed,

"I know. I just want to go ahead and get furniture and stuff. I don't want to be stressing about that. Plus I'm the one who has to put it together" he shrugged.

He had made a point. Let's stress, plus with Covid cases going back up, everything might shut back down again. And, he will have to put it together.

"Okay. Let's go" I sighed and got up to wash my plate.

Ashton hopped out of his chair, tossed his dishes in the sink and ran to our room. I laughed. He's taking this pregnancy a lot better than I thought and a lot better than I am.

I walked into the bedroom and grabbed some clothes before slipping into the bathroom with Ashton. He was already dressed and brushing his teeth,

"You okay?" Ashton questioned as I changed,

"Yeah" I mumbled. He didn't believe me,

"What's wrong?" He asked as he pulled me into a hug, dismissing the fact that I was in my underwear and bra, "Is it the baby?"

"You're just so excited. Why can't I be?" I sighed, burying my head into his chest,

"Why aren't you excited? I mean I know it's unexpected and we're young but still" Ashton rubbed my back,

"I'm stressed. I'm pregnant and I just graduated college, we just got engaged, we have wedding planning, I'm about to start my first job as an accountant, and you'll be leaving for tour a few months after this baby is born" I teared up.

"Hey hey it's okay. Look, I'm here to help you out. And don't worry about tour. I will figure it out. You won't be by yourself" he told me, placing kisses on my head. I nodded against him before letting go. Ashton used the pads of his thumbs to wipe my eyes before kissing me briefly.

Once I got dressed and ready, Ashton and I headed out, ending up at IKEA. We put our masks on and entered the store. Ashton grabbed my hand and we went towards the baby section.

"Any ideas?" Ashton asked as we walked around,

"I think we should get a crib that we can just turn into a toddler bed and maybe a dresser that a change table attaches to the top too. We won't have to buy completely new furniture in a few years" I answered. Ashton chuckled and kissed my head, making me look up to him,

"You've thought about this, but it's a good idea" he chuckled, "What about white furniture?"

I nodded and we walked over to a little set up,

"This is nice" I ran my hand over the wood. Ashton nodded and walked over to the dresser piece and opened the drawers,

"These are nice" he mumbled, "There's a place for a change table attachment on top" he called me over. I walked over and looked in drawers,

"Lots of space. We could get like drawer organizers too" I nodded, then laughed, "I cannot believe we are looking at baby stuff"

Ashton laughed and nodded as we saw a worker walking up to us,

"Hi, can I help you guys with anything today?" He smiled,

"Looking around" Ashton answered, "Are these all the pieces in the set?"

"Actually no" the worker spoke then grabbed a paper from the crib and handed it to us, "There is a rocking chair, a side table, and a bookshelf. The shelf is for the cube baskets" he pointed to each on the paper,

"Can we see these?" I asked. He nodded and led Ashton and I around the corner where they were. Ashton went and sat in the chair,

"This is so comfortable" he laughed,

"Can I ask how far along you guys are?" The worker asked,

"15 weeks" I answered, "We just have a really busy couple months coming up and we just need to get things going"

"Awesome! Well I will be around if you have any questions or make any decisions. Just let me know" he nodded and walked off.

"Do you like the set?" Ashton rejoined me,

"I do" I nodded looking at all of it again. Ashton nodded back and walked off and got the worker we talked to earlier and made our purchase. It was expensive but we are financially prepared. We each have our own little accounts but we had already got a joint one when we got engaged.

I sat in the passenger seat of Ashton's Range Rover while he put the backseat down and him and the worker loaded boxes in through the trunk.

"Alright, I wish the best of luck to you all. Congratulations" the worker, who we learned name is Mark, spoke.

"Thank you" Ashton replied and got in the drivers seat,

"This is so fucking crazy" I laughed.

Ashton stifled a chuckle and grabbed my hand over the console,

"It's getting real" he smiled.
