Surprised // A.I (completed)

I could already smell food and hear chatter coming from the kitchen when I woke up. I stretched out then rolled out of bed.  I was actually feeling pretty good this morning, just really tired.

I trudged down the hall and into the kitchen where everyone was. Our parents were sitting at the table and Ashton was making breakfast.

I made my way behind Ashton and wrapped my arms around him, my face pressing into his clothed back. Our parents were too into whatever conversation they were having to notice me walk in,

"Good morning" Ashton laughed and lifted his arm for me to slide into his side. I smiled and leaned up and kissed him quickly before hugging his waist,

"Breakfast is almost ready if you wanna go sit" he patted my back. I nodded and moved to the table, sitting next to my mom,

"Morning sweetheart" she smiled. I smiled back and leaned my head on my hand as Ashton started plateing food.

My dad helped Ashton bring plates over before they both sat down and we started to eat,

"We have a couple baby things for you two but we're gonna give it to you guys here since his names on it" Anne told us,

"Well thank you" Ashton smiled,

"Don't worry. I don't know the name" my dad laughed.

We had a few hours before me, my mom, and Anne have to go to the baby shower. We were settled on the couch drinking coffee when Anne and my mom brought us some gifts out,

"We told you all we don't need anything" Ashton sighed,

"It isn't for you. It's for my grandson, well I guess some of it's for you" Anne hit Ashton's leg,

"A couple things have his name or his initials on it" Mom warned.

I leaned forward and grabbed the first bag, pulling tissue paper out then pulled out this nice gray diaper bag backpack. I looked it over and saw his initials on the front,

"This is really nice" I smiled,

"It's not girly either and I like that" Ashton smiled. He told me a while ago that when we went to get things like this, he had to approve it because he wasn't walking around with a girly diaper bag,

"Thank you" I smiled. Anne and my mom just nodded and my dad smiled. He had no idea what was in the bags so he was just as surprised as me and Ashton.

I opened another bag and pulled out some bottles, bibs, burp cloths, pacifiers, and a few clothes then moved to the last bag,

I pulled the paper out and then pulled out a baby blanket. My heart fluttered. The front side was navy and had little dinosaurs on it and our baby's name on the corner. On the backside it was light blue.

"I love it" I grinned, running my hand over it,

"This is so soft" Ashton took it from me,

"Seriously thank you" Ashton smiled and we hugged our moms,

"Now we know this baby is unexpected, but are you guys happy? Excited?" My mom asked,

"Honestly, I couldn't be happier. I'm so excited. I just want him here already" I beamed,

"That's good. All I want is for you to be happy Han" my dad grinned.

Time was ticking so I went to get ready for the baby shower. Ashton had followed me into the bathroom and is watching me get ready while sitting on the counter.

"Luke's coming over here. He didn't want to be home during the baby shower" Ashton laughed,

"Does that mean he's helping you and my dad build furniture?" I asked, putting makeup on,

"I told him that and he said okay" Ashton shrugged, "Do I need to be on the lookout for anything?"

I laughed. We have baby things arriving all week,

"His coming home outfit should be coming today. But don't open it. I don't want anyone to see it yet" I told him,

"Gotchu babe" Ashton winked.

I drove my mom, Anne, and I to Luke and Sierra's and we walked in the house where I was met with my friends,

The girls introduced themselves to my mom then we went and sat outside. Petunia came over and laid down by my feet.

"I can't believe there's only 12 weeks left" Madeline grinned,

"Neither can I. But as it keeps getting closer, Ashton will not let me do anything. I can't even shower by myself" I laughed,

"He's just protective" Crystal smiled. I nodded because she was right.

Some games were played, we ate, and I opened gifts. We got a ton of cute things. One of my favorites was the Nemo baby bath robe and booties. There was even a gift from the boys- it was a 5sos onesie that they had made.

When we got home, Ashton rushed out to help bring things in then dragged me down the hall, stopping at the nursery door,

"Everything is complete in here. All we need to do is put his name on the wall" Ashton told me before walking me in.

I gasped. It was amazing. We had discussed how we wanted it and Ashton did exactly that,

"I love it babe!" I turned and kissed him,

"Good" he grinned, "I want it all to be perfect, not only for you, but him too"
