Falling for a Furry: A Great Change

Prom Night

The day of the prom arrives with Taciana's blue eyes opening up to the sun shining down on her face. She skips over to the guest cottage where Jackson is still sleeping. As she pokes him, Jackson groans and continues sleeping.
Taciana: "Jackson? It is time for my hero to wake up. Okay then, time for my secret weapon."
She sprays peach scented perfume all over herself, making Jackson's sensitive canine nose go crazy.
Taciana: "Now for my lipstick."
Jackson: "Wow, something smells scrumptious!"
Taciana: "You mean like me?"
Jackson: "You get dressed real fast."
Taciana: "I need to ask if we have our private ride for the prom, Jacky."
Jackson: "Chill, my Tacci, I got this."
He calls up Glassbec Limo Services for a one-night drive special.
Jackson: "You are coming by the mansion at 8:00 pm? Excellent. Thank you."
Taciana: "We are going to be driven to and from the prom, right?"
Jackson: "Of course we are, my rabbit love. It will all go as planned."
Bolton: "Why did Taciana have to be the one child who wakes earlier than everyone else?"
Saba: "Bolton what is wrong now?"
Bolton: "I cannot wrap my head around the idea of our son and four daughters going away to college. Can't they just stay around for a little longer while attending a local college for a couple more years?"
Saba: "That is a great idea, hun. Our children could attend close to here and then transfer to a big university."
Bolton: "That way we can keep an eye on them."
Saba: "That and tuition is cheaper at a community college. Therefore, saving us plenty of money. I would say sending them all to GoldenOak Community College first and they could transfer over to Wood Creek University."
Bolton: "Glad we agree on that, Saba."
Saba grabs the hash browns, fruit, and veggies while Bolton grabs the bacon and bread for Jackson.
.......35 minutes later......
Saba: "Breakfast is ready!"
Bolton: "Come on down when you are ready kids!"
Saba: "Well good morning lovebirds."
Taciana: "Mom!"
Saba: "Relax, everyone around town is aware of you and Jackson's status, dear."
Taciana: "What does that mean?"
Saba: "It is another way of saying that you claimed Jackson as a mate and you are being very protective of him."
Jackson: "I don't mind if she is, Ms. Rabeau."
Bolton: "Boy, you may want to rethink your answer on that one."
Saba: "Bolton."
Taciana: "You don't mind me being with you most of the time?"
Jackson: "Please, being with you is a dip of fresh water."
........40 minutes later........
Taciana: "Let us get going, hun. We have some VIP tickets to pay for once lunchtime comes."
Jackson: "Sounds swell, I cannot wait to live it up like a VIP."
The others followed. Ten minutes later they all arrive at school.
.........Meanwhile at Wild Eye High........
Ava: "I am telling you, Shauna, Jackson is the only one I can think about."
Shauna: "Then try finding another male furry who can make your dreams come true."
Ava: "That is easy for you to say, Shauna. You have Geoffrey. I am still alone, and no ever bothered to ask me!"
Shauna: "Hey come on, Ava, cheer up. At least you still have a chance with any guy you come across."
Ava: "It is fine I will go as the only single raccoon girl and buy my ticket."
Ava waits in line to buy her ticket for prom when she sees few others including some of her friends buying VIP tickets.
Ava: "Might as well go big or go home."
Weldsman: "One VIP ticket to prom?"
Ava: "Yep. Hey everyone, this is Shauna and Geoffrey."
Shauna: "Hi everyone, it is nice to feel included. Right, Geoffrey?"
Geoffrey: "Yup, sure pumpkin."
Shauna: "Geoffrey?"
Geoffrey: "It is nothing to worry about Shauna; I am just inviting my friend over to lunch."
Shauna: "Oh well, that's fine, but don't let him talk about his molecular physics award the whole time he is here."
Ramona: "Molecular physics?"
Geoffrey: "Yeah he is a real scientific expert at it."
Then a familiar coyote comes to the table and Ramona just melts at the sight of him.
Ramona: "Oooh, hi Martin."
Martin: "Good afternoon, Ramona. What's up Geoffrey? You ready for the final's next week?"
Geoffrey: "Heck yeah! But tonight we party like rock stars, bro!"
The two friends give each other high fives.
Ramona: "Shauna, are they always going to be like this?"
Shauna: "Hopefully not."
Geoffrey: "Hey come on ladies, you are staring at a pair super geniuses."
Shauna: "Geoffrey, you are doing it again."
Ramona: "Don't be ashamed of them Shauna; I think it is nice that they are trying to impress us."
Shauna: "Martin, did you happen to find a corsage for your date?"
Martin: "Yeah, what is that?"
Shauna: "It has always been a custom for the man to put a corsage on his girl. So do you have one?"
Martin then unzips his lucky pack and reaches in revealing a blue corsage. He wraps the corsage around Ramona's wrist. She hugs him.
Martin: "For you, Ramona."
Ramona: "A blue iris? Martin, this is so beautiful!"
Martin: "I didn't know making your girl happy involved being constricted!"
Geoffrey: "Trust me, my friend, Shauna is all over me every time she receives something shiny on her birthday."
Shauna: "What was that, Geoffrey?"
Geoffrey: "Just an inside guy joke, babe."
Shauna: "Okay."
Jackson: "Love is certainly in the air today, huh?"
Tobias: "Whew, tell me about it."
Miles: "I hear you man, but the furry ladies will not stop until they find a mate by any means necessary."
Jackson: "They actually say that in these times?"
Miles: "It is true. For example, Riley was crazed about you and now she is all about staying with me."
Jackson: "Is that why most of the girls in our merry band have been hitting on me?"
Yahar: "They are right, bro. Evelyn couldn't keep her paws off me when I won her a prize at the spring fair last year."
........Flash back to 5019.........
Evelyn is at the concession stand eating kettle corn and noticed a honey badger with sick skills at a bottle hitting contest.
Evelyn: "I want to give it a try."
Yahar: "Go ahead."
Evelyn: "Here we go."
She throws the ball a three times but only hits half of the bottles.
Evelyn: "This is so hard!"
Yahar: "May I?"
He places his own quarter down and throws the ball once, watching as it knocks all the bottles down.
Game Concession Furry: "We have a winner!"
Yahar: "I believe this is yours."
Evelyn: "Thank you. What is your name?"
Yahar: "My name is Yahar."
Evelyn: "Evelyn."
Yahar: "Want to explore a little?"
Evelyn: "Hehe, okay. Mind if hold your arm for a bit?"
Yahar: "Not at all. Why?"
Evelyn: "Cause I want to."
......Present Day 5020 at 12:00pm.......
Tobias: "So that is why she chose you?"
Yahar: "Well yeah. Evelyn is my badger queen, while I am her aggressive king. How are things with you and Abby, if you do not mind my asking?"
Tobias: "Abby and I are good actually. We even studied all of our class subjects thoroughly last week."
Miles: "You two are prepared for the finals already? Dang! I may have to convince Riley to do the same with me."
Tobias: "What about you, Jackson? Do you and Taciana study together?"
Jackson: "Sometimes we do, but not always."
Tobias: "What happens during the times you don't study."
Jackson: "Taciana wants to talk about her day in class and I talk my day in class. You know, usual everyday stuff."
........Meanwhile in the Lunch Line.......
Taciana: "Are you serious? Martin gave you the corsage this early?"
Ramona: "Yes and it was adorable. The way he did it just felt so natural."
Abby: "My Toby plans on driving me to the Emperor Ballroom."
Evelyn: "I'm hoping that Yahar doesn't do his freestyle."
Riley: "Evelyn, a lot of us are going to dance in freestyle to the faster songs."
Evelyn: "Believe me, you don't want to see how he dances to fast beats."
Taciana: "Well, I know Jackson will never want to lead in a new form of dance."
Evelyn: "Really?"
Taciana: "Oh yes, he insisted on me taking the lead."
They all sit and eat together for the rest of lunch and purchase up the remaining VIP tickets afterwards.
.......3 hours and 18 minutes later.......
Afternoon approached as all the students of Wild Eye High left home to prepare themselves for the party.
.....At the Rabeau Mansion.....
Saba: "Bolton. Honey!"
Bolton: "Yeah?"
Saba: "The kids are back. Could you the open the door for them, please? I am about to wash my hair."
Bolton: "But the game is nearly over."
Saba: "They have their hands full, Bolton."
Bolton: "We could hire a butler, you know."
Saba: "Bolton!"
Bolton: "Okay, okay I will open the door. Sheesh."
Jackson: "Did you really need to buy all of that make up?"
Taciana: "Yes, because it is part of the surprise I have for you once I am done changing."
Jackson: "This means I have to wait patiently for it, right?"
Taciana: "Hey, do not be pouty. Good things will come, you just need to wait."
She heads up to her room to put on the lace chiffon dress and applies the makeup she bought on her eyes.
Taciana: "Perfect. Time to teach them how to boogie."
Jackson: "The best parts always involve waiting."
........30 minutes later.......
Jackson quickly changes into his tuxedo and tightens his belt around his pants.
After that he pops in a breath mint before knocking on her bedroom door.
Jackson: "Hey Tacci, are you done?"
Taciana: "Just a minute! Okay! Come on in."
Jackson opens the door, and his jaw drops before howling with joy.
Taciana: "Such a howler."
Jackson: "Tacania Rabeau, you are a radiant gem."
Taciana: "Hehe, you are quite snappy dresser yourself, Jackson Le Tontione."
Taciana: "Time to roll, we have a limo that awaits us."
Jackson: "I could get used to this."
Taciana nuzzles her nose against his lovingly before he opens the limo's back door for her.
Taciana: "Such a gentleman."
Jackson: "You will be even more impressed with the moves I've mastered."
......7:00pm the Rabeau's Mansion......
Martin: "You got this man. You got this."
He knocks on the big doors and is greeted by Mr. Rabeau.
Bolton: "Yes?"
Martin: "Good afternoon, Mr. Rabeau. I was wondering if Ramona was still here?"
Bolton: "Ramona! There is an stranger at the door who seems to know you."
Ramona: "Daddy, he is not a stranger, he is my date. Come on Martin, we are going to be late and the miss the first song."
Bolton: "Have fun, Ramona! Martin, I know where you live."
Martin: "Great meeting you."
....Meanwhile at the Ballroom at 7:30pm....
Jackson: "So anyways, that is why my brother Cole called me the Speed King, I always beat everyone who challenged me to a race on the track team."
Taciana: "Whoa, that must have been a hard part of your life maintaining such a title."
Jackson: "Nah, it wasn't so bad. I did earn first place for three years in a row before the war started."
Taciana: "Do you miss it? Your old life?"
Jackson: "There are days when I reminisce about my former life, but I have moved forward with you and your family."
He reaches across the table and holds her paws for a few more minutes and stares into his girlfriend's eyes. One of the doors opens with many furries including the deejay setting up shop in the main room.
Jackson: "Why did you bring us here early if the party starts at eight?"
Taciana: "So we could bond a little more and learn about each other."
Jackson: "Hehe, I guess it was good idea for the driver to bring us here early. After all, I did get to know another side of you too."
Taciana: "Our friends should be here at 8:00pm which is 22 minutes away."
Jackson: "I almost forgot to give you your corsage."
Taciana: "Aww, Jackson, this is amazing. It matches well with my dress."
..........24 minutes later..........
Martin: "Thank you little lady for riding Martin's Python."
Ramona: "Hehehehe. Did you just make that up for my sake?"
Martin: "Oh no Ramona, this is the 5012 Python Rollmaster. My Dad bought it for me since it was my dream car."
Ramona: "You are so lucky. My parents never really buy cars for me or my other siblings."
Martin: "Why?"
Ramona: "They were afraid of us breaking it. So it wouldn't affect their finances, instead they gave us an equal piece of the inheritance to keep us going for many years."
Martin: "Your parents think your not capable of making the decision to buy a car?"
Ramona: "They only think my sister Taciana and my older brother Warrick are responsible enough to have a vehicle."
Martin: "I think you are responsible type."
Ramona: "You do?"
Martin: "I think you are responsible enough to to anything."
Ramona: "Could you help me pick out a new car next week?"
Martin: "I may have the physics final next week, but yes, I will fit into my schedule Mona."
Ramona leans over and presses her lips against his passionately.
Ramona: "Time to have some fun!"
Martin: "Sure, let me just lock the van. Here we go."
Ramona: "Hi Taciana. Nice choice in silk."
Taciana: "Thanks, Ramona."
As they continue talking about different types of fabric, Jackson and Martin talk about the latest basketball game between the Gryphons and the Knights teams.
.......40 minutes later.......
The building is flooded with furries of all kinds from Wild Eye High and they walk towards the main room as the Deejay makes his announcement to the crowd.
Deejay Fury Thunder: "Alright is everyone feeling good tonight?"
Crowd: "Yeah!"
Deejay Fury Thunder: "Time to start things slow. So grab that special someone and or find a partner, because it is going to get crazy afterwards!"
The music starts as every furry in the dances to the slow symphony of a song known as Forever Through The Light. During the song, the group finds their own spot in the crowd to dance and sway to the harmonic beats.
Tobias: "I assume that your enjoying yourself, my squirrelly love?"
Abby: "I sure am, Toby.
Riley: "Mind if we take this thing we have between us a little further?"
Miles: "I thought you only wanted to dance for the night?
Riley: "I had second thoughts."
Miles: "I take it that this means you have let go of your obsession with Jackson?"
Riley: "Yes, Miles Booker, that is what this means."
Miles: "What type of dance were you thinking of for the next song?"
Riley: "How about we try it in freestyle."
Miles: "Works for me."
.......3 hours of dancing later........
Deejay Fury Thunder: "Alright everybody listen up, this the last song of evening, The Dream of Your Eyes! However, this will only involve the two who win the contest for prom king and queen. Their names are Jackson Le Tontione and Taciana Rabeau! Show them some love folks!"
Crowd: "Woooh!"
Jackson and Taciana stand as one in the middle of the dance floor to perform their Samba routine together for everyone to see.
Taciana: "You sure you are ready?"
Jackson: "Trust me on this."
Amber: "I can't believe it."
Evelyn: "What can't you believe, Amber?"
Amber: "I can't believe someone as handsome as Jackson isn't with me."
Evelyn: "Be happy that you had a good time, Amber. I mean its prom, not a big celebration."
Amber: "I am still not giving up on my desire for that attractive dhole."
Evelyn: "Whatever, you say."
Yahar: "Evelyn, it is almost past twelve in the morning."
Evelyn: "At least stay for the final dance Yahar, they are our friends."
Yahar: "Okay, but all of our parents won't like it."
Ava watches the whole performance unfold with her eyes fixed on Jackson.
Ava: "So majestic."
...........12 minutes later.............
The Samba dance finally ends with Jackson lifting Taciana in the air and setting her down with grace and ease.
Taciana: "We won, baby! We won!"
Jackson: "What did I tell ya?"
She wraps her arms around him as they hug it out and share a kiss under the spotlight.
Crowd: "Awww."
Taciana: "Jacky, they are still watching us."
Jackson: "Don't mind them, my gorgeous bunny. What matters now is you and me."
