(Emily's POV)

6 months later

"Should we be worried that she isn't walking yet?", I ask Daniel as Ella lays on the floor, giggling. Daniel smiles at me, "Not at all, the doctor said she'll walk when she is ready to and not too scared", he says. I nod, looking at Ella softly as she shakes her rattle. Daniel sees that I'm worried and stands up, walking over to me and sitting next to me, "What's up Ems? You've been like this ever since she was born, is something troubling you?", he asks softly. I shake my head, "No, it's just, I'm worried about your mother, still, I know it's stupid but, I still am scared of her harming Ella", I say softly. Daniel sighs sadly, "It's not stupid, I understand, she won't be back though, I promise I won't let her hurt you or Ella", he says. I nod, looking down at the ground, "Mama?", asks Ella. Daniel and I gasp, "Did she just say her first word?", we both ask. Ella smiles, "Mama", she says again. Daniel looks at me, "Wow, thought it would be Dada", he says, a little disappointed. I chuckle, "Well, it's okay, she'll say it soon", I say. Daniel smiles and nods, "Hello? Anyone home?", I hear someone from downstairs say. Daniel and I look at each other, "It's your mom", I say scaredly. Daniel puts his hands on my shoulders, looking at me reassuring, "I won't let her harm you and Ella, I promise", he says. I nod, picking up Ella from the floor and putting her in my arms, cradling her, "Deep breaths, Emy", he says as we walk downstairs. I stand on the last stairstep as Daniel goes to greet her, "Hi, Mom", he says sternly. Victoria smiles, "Hello son! I just wanted to check up on you, especially with a new little one", she says as she looks up at me, cradling Ella in my arms. Daniel glares at her, "I'm fine, thank you, you may leave now", he says as he opens the door. Victoria glares at him, "First, I gotta meet my granddaughter", she says as she walks over to me, smiling. I look at her scaredly, "Hi, sweetheart, I'm your grandma", she says as she smiles at Ella, sucking on her thumb. Ella looks at her, clapping her hands, "Aw look, she looks just like her mother", she says as she then glares up at me. I glare back at her, "My granddaughter came out so beautiful", she says with a smile. Daniel forces a smile, "Because her mother is beautiful", he says as he looks up at me with a real smile. I smile, looking down at Ella drooling on her rattle, "I wish she looked more like you Daniel", she says with a sigh. Daniel shrugs his shoulders, "It is what it is, as long as I have a daughter", he says. Victoria nods, "Well, I'm gonna be on my way, thanks for letting me see your daughter, she is wonderful!", she says as she leaves. Daniel fast walks over to Ella, looking at her, "No harm done, okay, good", he says as he kisses Ella on her forehead. Ella drools, getting drool on her pajamas, "Ella reminds me so much of you, did you know that?", Daniel asks with a smile. I smile, shaking my head, "I didn't know that", I say with a chuckle. Daniel chuckles, "Well, she does", he says. I smile, seeing Ella asleep in my arms, "I guess she was pretty tired", says Daniel as he smiles at her sleeping in my arms. I smile, "I guess she was, I'm gonna put her to bed, I'll be back", I say as I head upstairs. I walk into her room, smiling at all the cute decorations on her wall. I sigh, smiling, "You have great taste in colors", I hear Daniel say. I put Ella in her crib, turning around and smiling at him, "I remember you picking out the colors, not me", I say with a small chuckle. Daniel smiles, taking my hand, "Now I remember", he says as he puts his hand on my waist. I smile and put my hand on his shoulder, "I won't let my mother come near you or Ella, she can go be the grandma to  Charlotte's kid, as long as she doesn't get near Ella", says Daniel as he pushes back some of my hair out of my face. I nod, hugging him, "It's gonna be okay Ems, I promise I won't let anything happen to our daughter", he says as he rubs my back. I nod, taking a deep breath, "Now, if we can't sleep at night because of my mother, do we need a nightlight?", asks Daniel with a small smile. I laugh, tears of joy coming out of my eyes, "I'm okay", I say, giggling. Daniel smiles, "Good because you have me to be your nightlight", he says. I nod, yawning, "You seem a bit tired, here", says Daniel as he picks me up, carrying me like a baby. I wrap my arm around his neck, laying my head on his arm, "You need rest, let's go take a nap", he says as he kisses me on the forehead, carrying me into our room. I close my eyes while laying my head on his arm. Daniel sets me down in bed, putting the blankets over me, "Goodnight Emy, I love you", he says as he kisses me on the cheek. I sit up and look at him with sad eyes, "Can you lay with me?", I ask. Daniel smiles, "Cuddling with you is a dream come true", he says with a smile as he turns off the light and gets in bed next to me. I scoot over next to him and wrap my arms around his torso, laying my head on his chest, "Is that better?", Daniel asks as he strokes my dirty blond hair. I nod, "Thank you", I say as I doze, off, falling asleep.
