Karmanami: Intertwined.....

Chapter IV

It was 11:00 pm and the 4th day of summer holidays and it seems like Kugo sensei had given Manami too much homework. Karma was concerned about her. He dials her number but she wasn't picking it up.

He leaves a message for her.

"Okuda san, you're really making me worried, you haven't been out of the room for the past 4 days. What is with you and your homework? You really need to rest. Please answer me as soon as possible."

Manami listens to the message but ignores it and continues working again. The next day 7:00 in the morning, Karma knocks on the door.

"Okuda san, are you there?" Calls out Karma.

There was no answer, Karma notices that the door knob was unlocked.

"I'm coming in Okuda san." Announces Karma as he enters the apartment.

He enters Manami's apartment and head towards her room where he finds her sleeping in her study table soundly. It seems like she had been working very late.

He approaches her when the papers in the table attract his attention. He starts reading a paper and was soon lost in it.

Manami's wakes up and yawns peacefully when she notices Karma with the paper in his hands. She vigorously grabs it, startling him.

"Karma kun, what are you doing in my apartment?" Asks Manami who was annoyed at him.

"You've been inside your room for 5 days now and you didn't even lock your door. How careless can you be?" Scolds Karma but in a calming tone.

"I didn't? Ugh." Says a half asleep Manami.

"Whatever it is. You've done way too much work, you need to rest now."

"No Karma kun. I really have to work-"

"You're not going to work today. Okay." There was a different presence in Karma's eyes that were scaring Manami but somehow comforting her at the same time.

"O-Okay." Manami answered.

"Also, you're starting to stink. Take a bath."

"Okay." Manami silently follows Karma's orders.

"I'll bring breakfast for you by that time. Okay."

Karma walks back towards his apartment while Manami takes a shower feeling finally free and fresh. She steps out of the shower and sees that Karma was already there with breakfast.

"So, what are you working on? I read those papers and it was all chemistry but it seems like it's something really important huh."

Manami almost chokes on her food.

"That's a project that I'm working on." Answers Manami.

"But why did you her extra homework though?"

"It's a project that'll be used for the school only and competitions as well."  Answers Manami in a discreet voice.

Manami opens her book when Karma snatches it away from.

"No more books today, we're going out. Okay" Says Karma in a slow seductive voice.

Manami couldn't help but nod her head.

"Okay then, let's get going in an hour. I'll come pick you up."

"But Karma kun I-"

Karma places his fingers on Manami's lips silencing her in an instant. He leans in close to Manami. Manami could feel her heartbeat.
