Karmanami: Intertwined.....

Chapter XXI

The winters were slowly approaching and Manami was on the final stage of her research. She looked determined and confident. She had submitted her research work to her chemistry teacher and Karma had a arranged a date for the two of them for that evening.

It was in a fancy hotel and although Manami felt a little reluctant about the place, Karma had assured her that she does not need to worry about the cost.

Manami goes through the menu and her eyes go wide open when she sees the price of food. She looks around and sees people, rich people eating their food and it made her uncomfortable, which Karma noticed.

"Manami, are you okay?" Asks Karma.

"I'm fine it's just that I'm feeling a little uncomfortable here?" Answers Manami wiping her sweat from her face.

"Should we go somewhere else?" Asks Karma and Manami nods a yes.

"Let me just use the restroom first and then we'll go. Okay?"

Manami nods and Karma heads for the restroom. He opens the tap and freshens his face. The door of a toilet opens and a very familiar person steps out if it, it was Kira.

Karma ignores Kira but Karma smirks and walks next to Karma.

"You're here with Manami?" Questioned Kira.

Karma remains silent ignoring Kira, which irritates Kira a bit.

"What do you see in that girl really." Exclaims Kira.

Karma stops wiping his face and silently glares at Kira.

"I mean she's just an average looking girl and a guy like you can get any girl he wants, then why go for someone like her?" Taunts Kira.

"That's none of your business."

"Oh I get it. You're with her because she's probably good in bed right?" Smirks Kira wickedly.

Before Kira could even realise, a hard punch lands across his face and sends Kira flying a few metres away and all the way to the ground. He looks up only to see Karma filled with bloodlust in his eyes.

"Talk about my girl one more time and I'm not going to show you mercy." Warned Karma.

Karma stars walking out of the restroom when Kira yells at him.

"You better keep that girl of yours safe Karma. Who knows who's keeping an eye on her."

Karma turns back and sees Kira still smirking wickedly. Annoyed and tired he walks away leaving Kira still on the floor and holding his jaw.

He walks back to Manami who was sitting still.

"Manami, shall we go then?"

Manami and Karma leave the hotel and start walking by the street.

"I'm sorry for taking you out of the hotel Karma kun. I spoiled your night, it's just I get anxiety seeing so many rich people around."

"My night isn't ruined, I still have you and that's all-"

"Takoyaki" Manami screams while pointing towards a takoyaki stall.

She runs to the takoyaki still which was almost empty.

"Karma kun, there's so much Takoyaki here, come have it."

Karma runs to Manami.

"This is what you want to eat?" Asks an amused Karma.

"You don't want to?"

"I want to of course but I didn't think you'd want to eat takoyaki."

"Pfft. Takoyaki are amongst the best food Japan invented, you know." Scoffs Manami.

"If you say so. Sir Please give us a plate of Takoyaki each."

The chef hands them each a plate of takoyaki with 6 takoyaki balls each. Manami takes a bite and squeakes in satisfaction.

"This is so good."

"It really is good." exclaims Karma who was munching on his octopus balls like he's never eaten takoyaki before.

The couple munched on 5 more plates each before their stomach gave up. They thank the chef before leaving for their apartment.

'Manami and Karma were holding hand and walking in a green field. He turns to look at Manami who had a big and wide smile on her face. They stop near the edge of the field and Karma makes Manami turn to look at him and bends down to place a kiss on her lips when he hears a noise, he looks down and sees a knife through Manami's stomach. Manami falls in his arms as she grabs her bleeding stomach.'

Karma wakes up in a jolt, he was breathing heavily and was sweating as well. He looks around and checks his phone. It was 2:39 am.

"It was just a dream." He breathes a sigh of relief.

It was just a dream but the dream had Karma worried. Why did he dream like that? Was Manami in danger? Was he Overthinking? Whatever it was, it was enough to scare Karma and make him worried about Manami's well being.
