Karmanami: Intertwined.....

Chapter VII

It was the day of the anniversary and Asano's house was beautifully decorated. Asano happily looks at the decorations and breathes a sigh of relief. Manami steps inside and was also mesmerized to see the beautiful decoration.

"It's really beautiful." Says Manami.

"It really is." Nodded Asano in agreement.

"Well it's time for you to do all the things now." Says Manami surprising Asano.

"Won't you be here with me?" Asks Asano.

"I want you and your family to have all the time, we can celebrate together later on." Manami gives a comforting smile.

"Okay then, I'll do it on my own." Answers a confident Asano.

Elsewhere, Karma and his parents who were somewhere in a fancy restaurant having their meal. While his parents ordered sea food, Karma ordered traditional Japanese meal, surprising his parents a little.

"I didn't think you'd be into Japanese food this much." Says his mother.

"Well I'm living alone as a high schooler so I have to eat healthier meals." Answers a nonchalant Karma.

"Is it?" Karma's father gives him a questioning teasing look.

"What?" Asks Karma

"How are things going with that girl? You know that girl who is good in chemistry in your previous school?" Asks his mother.

"Okuda san?"

"Yes. How are things going with her, how far have you guys come?" Asks his father.

"What do you mean by that?" Asks an innocent Karma.

"You guys are dating right?"

"WHAT? NO. Are you people crazy. She's a good friend of mine. That's....all." Answers a hysterical Karma.

His parents give him a quiet long stare.

"I thought you guys were in a relationship. You were not?" Asks his mother who looked disbelieved.

"No, but why would you even think like that."

"I mean you will always talk about her and her only when you talk to us over the phone. You will always talk about her when we meet."

"Well... " Karma blushes.

"She's my chemistry partner after all." Answers a shy Karma.

"And you both have great chemistry together." Teases his father.

"Oh come on Dad. Don't say like that." Karma blushes even more as his parents laugh out loud.

Back to Asano's apartment where he was waiting for his parents to arrive and soon his dad arrived in casual formal dress rather than his usual strictly formal outfit he's usually in.

Asano welcomes his father and dictates him the further plans and after around half an hour his mother also arrives, who was dressed in a beautiful knee length frock, she instantly looked 20 years younger. She walks up to Asano's apartment where he was eagerly waiting for her.

"Happy anniversary Mom." Wishes Asano.

"Thank you son but what's the deal making me wear a dress like this. I've never worn something like this in so many years."

"Oh mom please today is the day for you to have fun and more. Now get in and enjoy please."

His mother steps inside and is surprised to see her husband in such a different dressing and although it did make a small smile appear on her face, she didn't look very happy seeing him, she was about to walk off when he calls out for her.

"Please listen to me, I know I've been ignoring our relationship for the past many years and I've failed in trying to restore it but give me one last chance." He extends his hand.

After much hesitation and giving it careful thought she finally takes his hand.

"Let's enjoy this day like we did in our first date." Says Asano's father.

She looks around and remembers that the whole decoration, their outfit were exactly like how they were the first time they went on a date.

"It's beautiful did you do all this intentionally." She asks.

"This was all done by our son and his friend. Although I was in on it a little." He chuckles.

She gives him a serious stare before laughing her heart out.

And soon before Asano could properly realize it, it seems like his parents have started bonding together again. They relieve their first date, from the food to the environment to the dance and music, it was all like their first date.

The hours passed by and it seems like Asano's parents were finally going to be together again. Asano was waiting for them outside, he hears the door unlock and gets up to see. He sees his parents holding hand and a bright smile was planted on their faces, they stepped closer and hugged their son.

"Thank you so much child, thank you for giving me back the man I fell in love with."

"Thank you so much my son."

Asano hugs them back not able to utter a word, it seems like he wanted to cry but had somehow controlled his tears.

At the airport Karma bids his parents goodbye when his mother steps closer to his son.

"Karma, make your feelings clear about Okuda chan, she's a very nice girl." She brushes his hair.

"Oh come on Mom, stop teasing me." Karma blushes.

She teases him for a little before she stepped inside the airport. Karma stood in silence thinking about his mother's words. Did he really like Manami the way their parents said? Was she more than a friend? He was confused and with that confusion he traveled back to his apartment.

Back at the student's residence Asano's parents had finally left the place and were bound to go back, he walks down to Manami's apartment to thank her.

He knocks on the door and Manami opens it.

"Asano kun?"

"Okuda, thank you very much. It's all because of you that my parents are finally together. My family is back again because of you. Thank you so much." Asano bows down in respect much to Manami's surprise who kept on telling him to raise his head up.

Karma was back at the student's residence, he starts climbing the stairs when he decides to surprise Manami with a sudden visit.

"Please Asano kun, I'm happy to be able to help you." Answers Manami with a smile.

Asano approaches close and gives Manami a hug.

"Thank you so much." He says.

Manami hugs him back.

"You're welcome Asano kun." She replies.

Karma reaches Manami's floor when he sees the scene in front of him and his jaws dropped wide open. Manami and Asano were hugging each other? He stood frozen in time as he sees the two smiling and laughing with each other and befor any of them could notice, he quickly heads back to his apartment.
