You open the mirrored doors, expecting to just quietly slip in unnoticed but it seemed like you had stepped through a portal. The room appeared to be split by an invisible wall, running down the length of table ending with Rhodey sitting at the head of it - crying into his hands. Either side of him were yelling heroes, hurling insults and accusations at each other. Shuri and Peter were incomprehensible; Wanda looked like she was about to kill Bruce; Thor was threatening to tear Clint's limbs off one by one; Sam was yelling some things at Strange that should never be repeated; Scott and T'Challa were having an animated discussion that involved a few punches but most surprisingly of all - Pepper was having level-headed and friendly conversation with the woman named Maria (she had startling features but she was very beautiful). The only person not involved in the carnage was the man named Fury. He was standing by the window casually surveying the room. You stroll over to him - intent on getting answers.
"Hi, I'm Flames," you begin meekly.
"Oh, you're the kid who kicked Sam and Bucky's ass's out there, I've got to say you were very impressive," he says his features cold. Not a hint of a smile.
"Thank you, also I'm not a..." you stop yourself mid-sentence. What's the point no one is ever gonna get your age right around here. "...Why is everyone fighting."
"They are all arguing about how to deal with Loki. There are two sides ; the side that thinks Loki is good now and we shouldn't fight him - that includes Shuri, Wanda, Thor, Sam and Scott - and the other side- Peter, Bruce, Clint, Strange, T'Challa - who think that Loki is too dangerous to be left alone and that we should bring him in. I must say that I agree with them - as Bruce one eloquently put it 'That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell crazy on him.'"
You nod your head rather than answering Fury; he didn't seem to be the type of person to disagree with. You had thought of every way he could have got those scars running under his eye-patch - none of them were nice. He points at Rhodey, "He started crying when he came back in after checking on you in the med centre - you see he left a calm orderly room and came back to a chaotic, lawless fight where Peter nearly dropped on top of him.
"How," you ask, your eyebrows arched with curiosity. Life was not easy around here.
"Peter, being the crazy child, he is, roped himself a hammock on the ceiling so he could be out of the reach of Shuri's vicious blasters. There was a lot of shouting and Peter didn't help the situation by pelting her with random objects from his vantage point. When Shuri nearly blasted Clint, he snapped and grabbed his bow from under the table and shot Peter's webs causing him to fall as Rhodey walked through the door. He gave the room one look before seating himself in that chair and that's when he started sobbing," he explains.
"Oh..." you start but he turns away and looks out the window. You understand that the conversation is over and walk over to the little screens at the back. The video from yesterday of Loki was playing on repeat on one of them; the other was just blank. You start pulling up all of S.H.I.E.L.D'S files on Loki and start reading about him. There were some very disturbing facts. A psychiatrist had called him an unstable and unnerved being, he killed over 200 people while he was here on Earth, also he seemed to have great fashion taste (someone actually wrote that in one of the reports). You also found an option that allowed you to search all available camera's for him. You click it - might as well see what he had been doing; the result shocked you. 6 identical Loki's appeared on your screen all in different locations: New York, London, Rome, Sydney, Singapore and Brazil. They were all dressed differently too.
New York Loki was casually wearing a black hoodie as he basked in the sun that was shining down on Central Park whilst his shoulder length black curls were tied back in a loose ponytail.
The one in London (who was entering the tube) had the same longish black wavy hair -this time it brushed his shoulders- and was wearing a sharp chic black suit.
The one in Rome, however, had short blonde hair and was wearing a comfortable white open-collared shirt and black trousers as he sat licking an ice cream outside the Colosseum.
Loki in Singapore was more of a relaxed fellow as he was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and shorts, watching the sun set as he sipped an Old Fashioned.
Brazil Loki had just woken up, tussled hair suited him, and was lounging by the pool.
Finally, in Sydney, he was leaving a gala - it had struck midnight at this point, and was wearing a gorgeous 3 piece ivy suit with a gold tie - short inky bob length locks frame his features.
You turn around and quickly alert Rhodey of the multiple Loki situation. His eyes look tired and defeated but he just smiles at you and thanks you for bringing this to his attention. Halfheartedly he tries to get everyone to stop fighting but they carry on quarrelling.
"This is enough," you think quietly to yourself. "They are all acting like children. Clapping your hands together identical flames shoot up between every battling pair of Avengers catching their attention. They all turn slowly to face you. Rhodey starts to speak.
"We have a small problem..."
