Poppy-
"Do you guys want to go to the cinema later?" The group of girls I sat with all turned our heads towards Daisy. The girls (Daisy, Faith and Mia) began discussing which film they'd rather watch after school. I sighed before standing up and telling the girls I was going to get a drink from the vending machine. They looked at me with concern as I began walking off to the vending machine the other side of the hall. As I picked up my feet from the ground slowly, I heard the all familiar laugh of the boys. I now stood at the vending machine and slid my coins in. A couple moments later a bottle of Evian fell from it's shelf and dropped to wear I could reach it. Turning around I found Jonah, Corbyn and Jack. "Hey Pops!" I gave them a small smile before we all engaged to conversation whilst walking back to the lunch table. Jonah nudged me "Pops, I know you miss him but you can't let if ruin all your fun. You'll feel better before you know it." I shrugged at Jonah, not bothering to explain the thoughts in my head which I had already told him multiple times. Not to be ungrateful, but nothing the guys ever said really helped. It's been little over a week since the fight and since I last spoke to Harvey. Our parents discussed the situation that night whilst me, Harvey and Elliot sat in silence. I was no longer allowed to have any contact with the two younger Cantwell boys.
We were all to delete each others numbers and social media as well as not being allowed to speak in school. My Mother then later called Daisy and Jonah's parents to ensure they support me and make the agreement official. I know it all seems very strict and my mum knows it's harsh but we didn't want Harvey's mental heath to get bad again. Harvey was on strict rules too, he wasn't allowed to date at all and he wasn't allowed out after school unless studying either. But from what I've seen Harvey hasn't given Debby the time of day...he doesn't bother speaking to her at all and avoids her at all costs. That makes me laugh. She gets really frustrated and still blames the whole thing on me...Maybe she's right too but I gave up making an effort.
Jonah sighed and threw his arm round my shoulder, pulling me close to him. Me and Jonah are a lot closer as friends again. We go out most days after school to get milkshakes and then just sit in the park. I've been attempting to learn how to skate but so far Jack's only been able to come out to teach me once as his mum is strict with revising for the upcoming tests. It would be a good idea to start revising actually, but if the girls were going out later, I wouldn't mind going.
"You should go."
I looked up at Jonah and smiled...it's like he read my mind.
"I might...Would you want to do revision tomorrow?"
"Seriously?"
"We can still get milkshakes, Jo."
He laughed and nodded.
"Okay, I guess it would be a good idea."
Jack then cheered.
"I'm not alone anymore! You could both come round mine. I'm sure my Mum wouldn't mind."
And so tomorrow's plans were made. I thought it would be best to stay busy in order to get over my feelings for Harvey but normally when I'm just with Jonah i just end up sitting with him in silence and he gives me mini pep talks daily about how it'll get easier. I know it will obviously it's just I didn't want to give up on me and Harvey, things were just starting to seem as if they were going to work out and now its been ruined again...We sat back down at the lunch table and I continued to stay near Jonah. There were a couple rumours going round about us dating which was odd because our school year knew how close me and Jonah were but knew it wasn't a dating thing. I admit we were very close for bestfriends but if either of us got into a relationship we'd both back off so it wouldn't be weird or effect it.
Jonah pulled me onto his lap and made an extra space for Corbyn to sit down.
"So cinema?"
"No! No boys allowed. If Jack can't go then it should be a girls date." Corbyn and Jonah nodded and agreed with Daisy, helping it be fair for Jack.
"Hey but we're thinking about having a revision thing at Avery's tomorrow. Would you girls be up for it?"
The three of the turned from Corbyn to me.
"It was kinda my idea so I'll come." I laughed.
The girls smiled and nodded. There's a pretty big chance with half of our group at Jack's we won't end up revising at all but he needs a day off so it's a good excuse. As the group continued to discuss the cinema and what movies were hot or not at the moment my phone beeped.Dylan: Can we talk?
I shook my head, laughing after seeing the message and showed Faith before she pulled a face and told him to do one. Once again I giggled before replying.
M: In your dreams.
Jonah watching me over my shoulder became very tense. Jonah really hated any idea of me and Dylan now as he thought he was dangerous to me. He pulled me further up his lap, closer to his body, holding onto me a little bit tighter. I put my phone screen down on the table and wrapped my arms around Jonah, which held onto my waist to give him the reassurance that he needs. Jonah smiled down at me before kissing my forehead and standing up just as the bell rang. Still holding onto me, I dangled a little as I was too small to touch the floor. Me and Joe both laughed before he dropped me gently. I picked up my phone and slipped it into my pocket before looking around the food hall for Harvey, Daniel and Zach who were all in our next class, PE.
I didn't look out for Harvey that much, my friends were aware of what I was doing it and when though. They knew i'd want to keep all eyes on Harvey just incase something happened. The 3 boys appeared and Zach gave me a sheepish smile before they kept walking. I was fine with Daniel...actually no, I was good with all the boys it's just after Debby and the other girls decided I was the bad guy, Zach decided to stay away for Harriet's sake. I knew she wasn't petty enough to tell him to stay away from me but he done it out of respect and I assume the girls were however petty enough to talk about Daisy, Faith, Mia and me.
He respected the fact Harriet didn't like us. So he stayed away but gave me awkward smiles like he just did to try not to bait out any negativity. He failed. I've known Zach for too long but I knew the girls well too so I know the way they went about it aswell.
Our group made it out of the canteen in a mix with Daniel and Zach. Harvey stayed back. I ignored him and kept walking to class with Jonah's arm wrapped around my shoulder. Jonah and the other boys laughed loudly causing it to echo throughout the hallway. I felt bad for Harvey being literally at the back of the group, walking with his head down so I pulled Jonah closer to me and he's attention focused on me.
"Joe..."
Jonah looked up and down the hall at Harvey and nodded before calling all the other boys over to him and letting go of me. I smiled and rushed over to the 3 girls as they stood and waited for me to continue on to our next lesson.I used to adore having Pe together but it just wasn't the same without all of us.
-
"Hold my heart, hold it tight it's falling..."
The girls and I were now listening in awe as Daniel played a song the boys had put together.
"It's beautiful! All your notes are amazing!"
The boys cheered as our group walked out of the aged school building."Personally, I think my notes were the best."
We all laughed at Zach joking around before me and the girls waved the boys off and headed to the cinema.
"So what did you want to watch?"
The girls looked at me and I grinned.
"You all know what I want to watch." I giggled as I answered Mia's question.
Daisy sighed as she knew I was talking about the new romance film 'After we Collided.' It was based on Anna Todd's book.I was so in love with the books and when I first read them I never shut up about them. Daisy however, wasn't the type of person to straight go for romance (but neither was I) We were more into horror.
The girls nodded and we soon arrived at the cinema.
