3 minutes...
The sun was going down, hiding itself behind the trees. I pulled in the parking spot that I had earlier. Lucky for me it wasn't occupied. Jumping out of the Jeep, I grabbed my bag and hitting the locks as I did light footwork to get to the double doors.
Once they slid open for me, I kept the same pace to the elevator, checking my phone as I went.

2 minutes....
Good grief, why was time moving so quickly now. I wanted to do this but then again I was nervous. Why was I so nervous?
I tapped my black painted fingernail against the railing. Closing my eyes, I inhaled and exhaled slowly trying to calm myself down.
Not working.
After a minute, I noticed the elevator wasn't moving. I placed the thumb and forefinger in the cornea of my eyes and sighed. Perfect. I forgot to punch the button to my floor. Walking back over to the buttons, I find the one to my floor and stab it making it light up.
Sorry button it wasn't your fault.
As the elevator jerked, alerting me that I was on my up to my room, my hands began to get clammy once more and it wasn't because of the hot weather. It was cool inside, really cool.
7:59
1 minute...
Maybe this wasn't a good idea. I mean this wasn't a great time to actually think about this because there was probably absolutely no way for me to get out of this. But I was me, I couldn't back out. At all. I mean I could but I would just be setting myself up for failure.
But the thoughts began to run through my brain. What if he was playing me? What if after all of this time, he didn't show up and left me hanging?
Before I could torture myself with anymore negative thoughts, the doors of the elevator separated, allowing me to walk out. The staunch from earlier was no longer hanging around which was good but what happened? Right now I couldn't focus on that, I had an interview to conduct. Speaking of...
Where was he?
The heels of my boots, quietly patted against the carpet as I made my way up to my door. From this point forward, I didn't know what to expect.
8:00
It was time.
Breathing in deeply, I unlocked my door, pushing it opened. My eyes were pinched shut but I slowly opened my left one then my right one. He wasn't here, I sigh of relief left my body. Quickly, I tossed my bag on my bed and walking to the table to arrange my questions.
"Didn't think you'd make it." A voice spoke deeply from behind me.
I didn't jump but my heart did a flip. Trying to contain myself or my fear, I slowly turned around to come face to face with the mysterious stranger.
"You're here." I muttered.
His eyes were hidden behind the shades once more. "Did you think I wasn't going to show?"
I swallowed and quickly raised my brow. "Honestly? I'm not sure."
He nodded, "Well, I did. So can we get on with it? I do have some... important things to take care of."
Important things? What did he have to do? I didn't want to hold him back from doing anything. Well, then again maybe I did. Maybe.
"Sure." I quipped, grabbing the documents and my page of questions.
