Chapter 18

Y/N's POV.

Me and Bella were the last ones who got outside the cave. Aj and Tenn were behind Clementine who just recently dropped the torch which was put out by the cold breeze.

Y/N: Damn, it's cold out here.

Bella: damn right.

Y/N: i'll go talk to Clem.

Bella nods as I walked over to where Clem was while Bella went over to talk to Tenn and Aj.

Clementine was looking around and scanning our area to see if which direction the school was.

Clementine: If the shore is that way, she points at the direction where the shore was, then the school is that way.

Y/N: Me and Bella saw a bridge that led to where the school was a few days before we found the school.

Clementine: Then that's where we're heading.

She starts walking towards the direction she said the school was as I walked beside her with the other three following close behind.

There was an awkward silence between the two of us when we were walking. I mean, we just had an argument not too long ago and then made up.

Y/N: So, what are you planning on doing when we get back?

Clementine: um, maybe hang out with you?

Y/N: You miss me that much?

Clementine: Hey! You were gone for a whole day, of course I miss you.

Y/N: Where do you wanna hang out?

Clementine: How about the bell tower?

Y/N: not a bad idea, you get a good view of the forest from up there.

Clementine: why do you and Bella like looking at nature and stuff?

Y/N: I was that type of kid who just loves to look at the sun setting with the trees swaying around because of the wind. The sound of the birds singing is always refreshing to me, as well as the sun.

Clementine: Were you always like this?

Y/N: Was i what always like?

Clementine: You know, kind, sweet, humble and other shit.

Y/N: shrugs. I guess that's just how mom and dad raised me.

Clementine: how's your eye?

Y/N: Still hurts like hell where it was before, but I can manage. Do I still look beautiful to you?

Clementine: Beautiful? You're a fucking badass with that missing eye. All you need is an eyepatch.

Y/N: Do you think they have one of those back at the school?

Clementine: I hope they do.

Y/N: Being on that boat for a whole damn day brought back some unpleasant memories. I wish I forgot those memories.

Clementine: You went through hell on that boat, and I let that happen.

Her eyes started to form tears at the thought of me being tortured on that boat. I placed my arm around her back while walking beside her.

Y/N: it's not your fault, Clem. I brought that upon myself. If it were you there on that boat instead of me, i would go crazy.
