Chapter 4

Y/N's POV

I was heading to where Marlon was which is at the stairs to the admin building with Brody beside him and Rosie at the top of the stairs.

I overheard a small conversation from Louis and Omar. Louis was asking if Omar saw Clem staring at me.

She couldn't be, right? Out of all the kids, why me? I'm not that good with social skills, nor am I good looking. For me at least.

I shook those thoughts out of my head and went to where Marlon was and ask about the new arrangements, seeing they got two new people and all.

"Hey Marlon." I said as he looked at me when he finished talking about something to Brody.

"Hey man."

"Hey Y/N, I'm Brody." She said.

"Oh, I know. Marlon introduced me to you saying that you weren't fit for hunting anymore, saying you should stick to fishing." I said in a way she wouldn't get offended.

"Yeah, I usually check the traps at the stream now with whoever gets assigned with me." Brody said.

"So, Marlon. What will be Clementine's role around here? You already gave mine."

"Well, she can either go fishing or hunting since we got an even amount of people with each." Marlon answered.

"Hey guys."

I turned around and saw Clementine and Aj heading towards us.

"Hey, how are you guys?" Brody asked both of them.

"Just trying to warm up to everyone, since we didn't really get to meet most of you. Bella seems to be a cool kid." Clementine said to me in particular.

"I guess you could say that. She acts more as a adult than a kid back then. It's refreshing, knowing there is still apart of her childish attitude out there." I said while glancing at Tennessee and Bella who were drawing.

"Oh, I forgot, the name's Brody. He seems like a sweet little fella."

"Clementine, and this is Aj Be careful, he bites."

"Clem! Aj! Stew's Done!" Louis shouted at us from beside the pot of stew Omar finished cooking.

"You guys go ahead, you earned your supper after all. Especially you Y/N, great catch." I nodded as I made my way to the same picnic table I sat at last night with the same people sitting there.

Clementine and Aj sat together as Bella sat in between me and Aj. Ruby and Marlon were on the opposite side of our seats.

Louis then came to our table with bowls in hand. "Everyone, dinner is served." He hands everyone their respective bowls.

I nodded in thanks to him while Clem and Aj were complimenting the stew.

Aj then begun chugging the bowl really fast as I stopped eating a bit, witnessing the mess that Aj had on his cheeks.

"Don't do that ok Bel?" I said in a whisper to Bella's ear, hopefully to not get heard by the two.

"Don't worry, I won't." I then heard a burp coming from Aj as Ruby let out an annoyed groan.

"Ughh." Louis soon followed up with his own burp. "Oh, Come on." Clementine then butted in her own long burp as me and Bella just silently ate while the rest of them were laughing.

"Enough!" Marlon said sternly. "Thank you." Marlon then had a smug look on his face as he let out a good burp which only earned a chuckle from me and Bella as Ruby walked off while flipping us off.
