She shot upwards from a white hospital bed, eyes wide open and breath heavy.
It was all a dream.
She ran her fingers through her hair, taking deep breaths.
I knew it, It was all too good to be true.
She was just a normal fan, and then Taehyung called her up on stage. She became a Bighit employee with no experience in the field at all? Of course, it was all nonsense.
She almost laughed out loud from how ridiculous it sounded. Like a story out of a teenage love novel or idol fanfiction.
It made more sense that she would come from a rich family, acquainted with the family of Taehyung, if the story involved them two meeting. Not a random girl on the side of a concert stadium.
But there were some elements of her wild dream that were true. In the beginning, she had a disorder. She had a similar problem in reality too. Her arm lifted as she glanced down at her wrist where the bracelet her grandmother had given her was tied. That too was true.
But becoming a Bighit employee? Attending a BTS concert like that? Living a middle-class life in America? Since when was her mind so creative?
Her eyes wandered around the room she was lying in. It was a hospital room. Everything about her passing out was true, but with Raesan? She's in America! That couldn't be true. So why and how did she end up in the hospital? Deciding not to think so much about what was happening, she decided to look around.
Everything in the hospital room was spotless, clean, and white- except for a large calendar hanging on the wall with the number of their year 2016 in bright red.
The door opened and a doctor wearing his white uniform stepped inside holding a clipboard. When he saw her, his eyes grew wide with happiness and surprise.
"You're awake!!"
A nurse came running in to check her pulse as the doctor asked her questions about how she was feeling. When he finished, he looked at her, looking relieved and bubbly. "You've been in an unconscious state for a long time. The accident probably caused you to have lots of visions- just aftermath of the shock, nothing too serious." He chuckled. "Your husband was so worried."
Husband? Her heart jumped. "Where is he?"
As if to answer her question, the door opened with a loud bang and her husband stepped inside.
"You're awake!" He rushed to her bed, and grabbed her hand. "How are you feeling?"
She laughed. "I'm fine, don't worry."
He leaned down and kissed her. "Okay, that's good to hear." He looked at the doctor. "When will she be ready to go home?"
"Soon," the doctor replied. "We will need to continue checking her pulse and temperature for some time. She will have to avoid some foods, and her wounds will still need some time to heal, but again, nothing too serious. So she can go home soon.
Wounds? What kind of accident did I get in? She didn't specify...
Seoyeon looked down to see one of her legs in a cast and felt a head cast on.
The doctor left the room quietly as her husband sat down on the chair next to the bed and squeezed her hand gently.
"What happened to me?" Seoyeon asked when she saw him with an excited look.
"You got in a car accident, remember? You hit your head pretty hard." Seoyeon's face turned shocked at hearing that.
"But are you sure you're fine?" he asked worriedly. "You look a bit dazed."
"You look a bit dazed," she replied, touching his hair absentmindedly. "I'm fine, really. Though, I did have the weirdest dream."
He frowned. "A dream? Was I in it?"
"Yes, you were. But I was a completely different person in the dream. I lived in America as a middle-class working girl and BTS was super popular.... I think it was sometime in the future because Bighit was a HUGE corporation and the stadiums were huge..."
Seoyeon still did not understand why she dreamed of such a thing, especially after dropping into unconsciousness from a car accident. She had never stepped foot on American soil, not had any financial difficulties that had caused her to work in a cafe like that. She had studied hard in university, the college both her parents wanted to attend before becoming a manager at her father's company. And soon, in secret, she had gotten married to her husband who she knew ever since she was a little girl in school. Nothing was too good to be true. It was all according to plan. But it was rather interesting dreaming as herself... from a completely different point of view.
A surprised but hopeful look reigned his expression.
"And I wasn't married to you," she added.
"Well, it's just a dream," he said slowly. "News flash: we're married."
"Of course I know that." They had been family friends for a long time that it was only expected.
She laughed as she looked happily into the intently gleaming, perceptive and sparkling eyes of her husband, Kim Taehyung.
