Chapter 12 - The News - 2 Months Later

I had an ok two months after that. It's now February and I thought that Sean had begun to love where we lived. I got my cast off and we went out a bunch of times after that to all sorts of places. Me and Leo had gone to the barn a bunch of times too and it was so fun. I loved the place that I could call my second home. Charlie had gone home to Bristol too but he was always on skype to both me and Leo.

It was the February half term and I was ready to go out with Zoe when I heared my Mom and Dad talking in the kitchen.

"I just don't want him to end up having some sort of mental breakdown. I'd never forgive myself" I heared my Mom saying. "And what if Sarah feels the same way?"

I didnt want to earwig but she brought my name into it.

"But Sarah loves it here , she's made tonnes of new friends and she loves every minute that she spends with them" I heared my Dad saying back.

"Honey I think this is the right decision for all of us. Could you tell the kids please? I don't have the heart" my Mom said possibly through tears.

My Dad walked out of the living room and saw me sitting on the stairs. "How much did you hear?" he asked.

"Enough , we're going home aren't we?" I said trying to fight back my tears.

He nodded "It's what's best for all of us" then he walked away and I let myself cry.

I needed to go outside and get some air. I'd only been here for 2 months but it already felt like home.

I went and sat on the front step to think. I wasn't there for long when I heared somebody walking up the path. When I looked up I saw that it was Zoe.

"Are you ok?" said Zoe rushing to sit at my side.

"This is just so hard for me Zoe. I'd rather tell you now though instead if waiting to." I said trying to be strong.

"You can tell me anything" she said which made me feel sadder because I knew that she was an amazing friend and I'd miss her lots. I wiped the tears from my eyes and began to tell her.

"Ok , here goes. My family are moving back to Tennessee" I said. She looked upset but she was able to hide her emotions better than me. She just stared at the ground. We called off where we were supposed to go so that I could tell everybody and Zoe went back home. I didn't know how I was going to tell Leo but I decided that I'd rather do it sooner than later.

I didn't stay at home that day. I ran streight to the barn to see Maisy , she'd be going home too.

I walked into the barn and sat on a hay bale in the corner.

"I know that I probobly seem crazy talking to my horse and everything but there's nobody else I can talk to. Everybody else would be too upset to understand" I said to Maisy "We're going home Maisy where you can live on the farm again and I can live on the farm again. I just don't know how to tell anybody. I already told Zoe and she seemed ok but I don't know how to tell Leo because to be honest , he's the first boy I properly liked." I know that Maisy is only a horse but it helps talking to somebody "Why is it only now that I'm leaving I know that I don't like Leo , I think I love Leo. He helped me when nobody else could and it's so hard to say goodbye"

"Then don't say goodbye , let's just say , see you later"

I turned around and saw Leo standing in the doorway.

"How did you know that I was here?" I asked.

"Because I saw you running down the street and you really love it here" he replied coming and sitting next to me "I heared everything so now you don't need to tell me , do you mean what you said? Do you love me?"

This was an awkward question but at least I couldn't give him a wrong answer.

"I do" we sat in silence for a while and I broke the silence by saying "Why is it that we always think and not know?"

"It's easier to think isn't it" said Leo "This doesn't have to be awkward , when do you go home?"

"On Friday" I replied.

"Oh , before you go , I love you too and I guess I always have" said Leo. I felt sad but I didn't feel like crying. I got up and walked over to Maisy just because it was something to do.

"Do you remember the first time you guys came here?" I asked. Leo nodded "I wish I could re-live that whole day. Leo then stood up and walked over to me.

"Let's re-live it right now , where's Dash?" asked Leo. This made my smile grow bigger than ever before.

"I love you Leo" I said.

"I love you too and this time I know this" he replied and then he kissed me on the forehead and brought me closer for a hug. We spent the rest if the day out in the field where he got to see me in action with Maisy.
