Fake
Fan tan
Fake Smile
Fake bleached fried and frayed hair.
Hair that curls perfectly
To show I'm together
But I'm
Fake
Pink and Green
Yellow,
Red and Purple
A tassel Maroon and Gold
This is a milestone I'm told
Smile for the camera
Smile for the family
Who abandoned you
Who refused to acknowledge you
Who couldn't make it
Smile so they can see your accomplishment
Here,
Hold a bouquet or three
And Smile and say cheese
Puff up your pink cheeks and
Smile your pink smile wide
And maybe the real you on the inside
Will have finally died
Fake girl
Fake personality
Fake friends
Who left at the end
Keep smiling
And hold the flowers
The only things that are real
Though they die in a few hours
Hours that you drink
That you don't think
About the fake girl
Her fake personality
Her fake family
Her fake friends
And that when this ends
Her fake tan
And fake smile
Will be stained and black
She will have lost a contact
And her fake smile will have finally died
The tear stained cheeks and running mascara showing what's on the inside.
Fake darling
You shouldn't cry
You don't have time
You have to drink again
You have to smile wide
And pretend you haven't already died inside.
