DO ME A FAVOUR!

"HE WANTS me to help him get date with lake meriwether." i tossed back in my bed as camryn sat at my vanity. i groaned, really considering why i told him yes.

"well, this is good." camryn exclaimed, grabbing my hands and bringing me back up to a sitting position on my bed, her hands on her hips in front of me.

"how is this good exactly?" i gave her a deadpanned look as i tilted my head slightly.

"felix trusts you." she smiled, giving me two thumbs up.

it had hit that i was finally able to get through to him. but goddamn, why'd it take literally an eternity?

"oh, that's good." i pointed to camryn, thinking to myself. "but still, i'm not good with relationships!" i said, once again, tossing myself backwards. "why does this have to be so complicated?" i groaned even louder this time.

"well, you can mope in your room for the rest of the day or you can go help felix!" camryn yelled, making me flinch. she can really get bossy at times.

"what, like text him?" i asked. she nodded her head furiously.

hey, what're you doing tonight? i pressed send, giving camryn the same deadpanned look from before, waiting for a response. a minute passed before my phone buzzed.

battle of the bands. he replied. "he's going to battle of the bands." i made eye contact with cam.

"then that's where you're going." she smiled, running into my closet. god, i knew i was in for a real treat.

"NOW, YOU know what to do, correct?" cam turned to me, putting her car in park.

"talk to lake about felix." i rolled my eyes. we only rehearsed what i was suppose to do about a million times. as much as i didn't want to be getting out of this car, wearing this flowing, violet dress, i had to make it up to felix after years of wanting to make amends with him.

"go get em, bambi." cam smiled to me. i gave her a nervous smile, popping open the car door and walking into the coffee house. the lights for the stage were burning bright on the still instruments, waiting to be played. i looked around the place until i saw a nervous felix talking to an uncomfortable lake. i had my work ahead of me. she walked away from him, felix still standing there awkwardly.

i walked towards him, seeing as he widened his eyes as i walked over.

"hey." i nervously smiled to him, seeing the ensemble he was wearing.

"i've never seen you this.. dressed up." he said, nervously, maybe more nervous than me.

"is it bad?" i asked, starting to feel a flush of insecurity. why was i feeling this way?

"no! you look great." he smiled. "it's just a change in scenery, that's all."

"definitely the case for you too." i began to laugh as he rolled his eyes.

"i'm performing. just don't judge me too terribly." he raised his eyebrows, nervously.

"don't worry, i'm here to help. i'm gonna be talking to lake most of the time. think of me as your.. wing woman." i smiled.
