Y/N had been so overloaded with work, her back ached from sitting stiff in the Slytherin common room for so many hours, writing and writing while swiftly blotting her quill into her ink pot every once in awhile. Most of the Slytherins were gone for the holidays, except for the Greengrass sisters, Millicent Bulstrode and a few boys who they had barely seen the entire course of the holidays.

Y/N had also been hesitant about seeing Luna, afraid of what people would say if they found them together. The both of them had agreed to keep their... well, arrangement quite private and under the wraps. Luna had no idea why, and simply didn't care if anyone found out; Y/N on the other hand knew that ninety percent of the Slytherins in her year would exile her, and treat her like
rubbish if they found out. Although times were progressive, Hogwarts wasn't exactly the most accepting in that category.

The (hair color) haired girl had strutted into her common room after dinner, books tucked in her arm planning to go unpack at the table where she spent most of her nights. However, upon coming in, she spotted Goyle, Crabbe, Zabini, and Nott huddled around in the chairs that lined it.

Y/N turned one hundred and eighty degrees, right out the door. She usually tolerated them, but tonight just didn't have the energy to deal with their playful insults and snappy comments. The library, she thought, had to be empty this time around. Her brisk movements got her to to the library in no time, which was unsurprisingly deserted, leaving many comfortable chairs open for her pleasure.

She sat down, unfolding her parchment and placing down her textbooks, and popping open her ink vial.

"Oh, Y/N, I have been looking for you everywhere," spoke the dreamy voice that she knew too well. She turned her head to where the voice was coming from, spotting Luna in an oversized sweater, baggy jeans, adorned with her turnip earrings. Her eyes went wide, shaking her head slightly at the unexpected visit.

"L-Luna," she croaked out. Her eyes darted in every area of the library, afraid someone was watching. "Didn't expect to see you here so late."

"Why've you been studying so much lately? It feels like I have not seen you in forever." frowned the blonde. "I've left notes on your dormitory door, you know." She sat herself in the chair, opposite to Y/N who appeared slightly nervous.

"I know," said the girl. "I just, haven't had much time, and I-I...don't want to fail the exams that I missed last week."

"It's okay, Y/N, you can just say you were trying to avoid me." She said this with no resentment, hurt or negative feelings expressed. Just in the typical Luna Lovegood way, completely matter-of-fact.

"No-" Y/N became defensive. "I have wanted to spend time with you, but we don't have much alone time anymore since break started."

"Are we not alone right now?" Luna asked.

"Well, I don't know," Y/N responded. "I don't know if we are or not."

Luna's eyes twinkled.

"If you say so," sighed Luna abstractedly. "I'll just stay here with you."

"Luna, I'll be studying the whole time."

"Angel, I know," she shut her eyes hazily. "I just like being with you."

Y/N blushed at the pet name, going back into her work. She would jot a few things on the paper, but found herself distracted with the girl lying in front of her, staring intently up at the ceiling as if there were something there besides stone. Y/N gazed at her, admiring her beautiful features. Her big, icy eyes, her adorable upturned nose, her flushed pink cheeks, her long blonde hair that was hanging off the edge of the chair, so silky and smooth.....

"Y/N, you can talk to me, I can tell you want to." Luna simply informed her without moving. Y/N blushed a tad bit, turning her attention back to her work.

"How did you know?" asked Y/N.

"Quite obvious when you ogle at me like that," said Luna. "It really is a shame I can't kiss you."

"Yeah.." Y/N softly said. "It is a shame."

Luna rose up, stretching her arms and running her fingers through her pale locks that cascaded down the chair. She rested against the chair now that she was more propped up, and studied Y/N with an expressionless face.

"You are beautiful, you know," said the blonde. "I don't see why we can't kiss."

"Luna, we've talked about this before," Y/N huffed. "If anyone were to walk in, see, or-"

"That's not a good reason," Luna cut her off.
"I haven't kissed you in a week and a half because you're so scared; no one is in here, Y/N. Except for the nargles but they don't care."

Y/N smirked a little at the last comment, amused at how serious she was.

"I just don't think it's a good idea." Y/N argued. She picked up her quill again, going to blot it on the paper, when she felt a soft hand pull her face up to connect their lips. Luna's legs wrapped around the hips of Y/N, still in the chair, now passionately returning the favor.

She couldn't explain how much she missed the other girls lips; the taste of lemon and honey tea from Luna's lips sending dopamine coursing throughout her entire body. Her hands buried themselves in the long, silky locks of hair she had been admiring earlier, and she had forgotten how enthralling the lavender smell of it was. Luna's pale, angelic, warm skin was all over hers, and she couldn't get enough of it. The last thing on her mind was anybody catching the two of them.

The two pulled away, Luna smiling shyly at Y/N who was underneath her. Luna's legs loosened their grip on her hips, folding up onto the other girl's lap instead.

"I missed you," cooed Luna.

"Me too," breathed out Y/N. "So much."
