A/N: CHRISTMAS WARNING
lol. anyways this is just pure fluff, and idiots in love. enjoy and happy holidays, babes

      "It sounds terrible!"

"What?" Y/N faked deep offense with a dramatic gasp. "You mean to tell me you don't enjoy 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' by Mariah Carey herself?!"

"I mean, I think we get the point! She only tells us what she wants fifty fucking times!"

Hermione, seemingly disinterested in the conversation, waved to Ron without looking up from her book beside him. "Ron?"

"Yes?"

"What do you think Mariah Carey wants for Christmas?" asked the brunette with a small smirk.

Ron heaved a sigh as he threw up his hands in defeat whilst struggling to hold back a smile. Hermione giggled at her own joke, and Harry and Y/N on the other couch opposite them began laughing as well. Ron couldn't help it but laugh too.

"If you think that's bad, just wait until you hear 'Santa Baby'." Harry chuckled as reached for his hot chocolate on the table beside the couch. "That's my least favorite."

"Hey, I like that one!" Hermione exclaimed, looking up from her book.

"Muggles treat Christmas so strange." Ron said. "Like, we have Carole of the Bells and Hallelujah like you guys do, and that's enough. Why do you need all of these rubbish songs?"

"Because people buy them, duh." Y/N said with a shrug. "And because they supposedly fill you with the Christmas spirit."

"If you say so," Ron rolled his eyes before snuggling closer to his girlfriend. Looking over her shoulder, he began to talk only to her, leaving the other couple across the room to themselves as well.

"Oh, I think the dough is done chilling."

"Want me to come help?" asked Harry,

"Of course," Y/N pecked his cheek before standing up to walk to the kitchen, which stretched to the opposite end of the long house. "But please don't get cookie dough on the ceiling."

"That was one time!" defended Harry as he followed her into the kitchen. Y/N snorted.

The slim boy leaned against the counter as his eyes followed her every move of preparation for the cookies. Her hands gripped the rolling pin as she placed the dough on the counter, preparing to thin it out.

Harry walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist so that her back was to his chest. Unbeknownst to him, she smiled softly, nearly melting against his jumper from his comforting warmth that she had grown to know as home.

The dough was thinned out soon enough, and she handed Harry a cookie cutter in the shape of a candy cane. The brunet readjusted himself and stood next to her so he could work with the dough.

"Think you can handle this?" smirked Y/N.

"I dunno," Harry shrugged with a grin. "I think you know I can handle a lot." A wink followed his statement.

"You kill me, Harry James," laughed Y/N before beginning to press her tree-shaped cutter on the slice of dough. He chuckled and followed her lead, cutting out various shapes and placing them on the cookie sheet.

After finishing a few, Harry wiped off his hand and reached for the radio sat on the opposite counter. Switching it on, he fumbled for a station before landing on a Christmas station.

"Welcome back to The Wiz 99.7: the best station for your holiday tunes!" sang the radio announcer. "What have we got next, Stan?"

"Well, we've been getting loads of requests for some classic muggle songs lately, so we're going to follow up our last song with 'White Christmas' by Bing Crosby." replied the other announcer. "Take it away, Ernie!"

Music began to fill the air as Harry sauntered back to Y/N, hands still working with the dough. Slowly and gently, he pulled her body away from
the dough, small pieces of dough falling to the floor as they left her hands.

"Harry!" cried Y/N with a giggle. "We have to make the cookies."

"The cookies can wait." The boy grinned, his shaggy black hair falling front of his face as he wiped her hands off with a towel before tossing it aside. The music grew louder, and as he grabbed her clean hands, she leaned in to his shoulder.

"I'm... dreaming... of a white.... christmas.."

He held her close, rocking to the music as she leaned against him. The snow was already covering the grass completely from what he could see out of the window. The song fit quite perfectly.

"...Just like the ones I used to know..."

"Harry?" mumbled Y/N into his chest.

"Hm?" Harry embraced her tighter and ran a gentle hand through her hair. He continued to rock back and forth with the rhythm, and so did she.

"I'm really happy you're coming to spend the holidays with my family," said Y/N. "They love you, you know."

Harry was quiet for a few moments. Uncertain, she peered up to see if she had said something wrong, but he almost looked like he was smiling yet about to cry.

"Harry?" She drew away from his chest. "What's wrong? Did I say something-?"

"No, sorry," he shook his head with a laugh and blushed. She could almost hear him sniffle as he wiped away the brimming tears. "That just.. just really means a lot to me, you know? I appreciate it a lot, Y/N."

"Well, it's true." She pecked his cheek before leaning into his chest once again. He returned her embrace once again, and they fell silent like before.

        "Where the tree tops glisten...

         ...and children listen......"

"I love you." whispered the boy, kissing her head. "I really do."

"I love you too," sighed Y/N into his chest. His hands fell to her lower back, prompting her to loop her legs around his waist. Hoisting her up, they grinned like idiots at each other for a few moments.

"You're fantastic." breathed out Harry, his lips only a few centimeters from her own.

       "Just kiss me already."

       And so he did.

The cookies could wait a little longer, anyway.
