TW: Emotional breakdown. (Idk if that needs to be tagged, but yeah)
Logan's POV:
"NO!" Roman screamed, once again throwing himself into the door. I shook my head. He was going to seriously injure himself. "LET HIM OUT!" He screamed, punching the door as hard as he could. Without a doorknob, we both knew of no way to get to Virgil. This was a very stressful situation, but Roman was only making things worse by stressing himself out like this.
"Roman..." I stated quietly. He only grunted loudly and threw his body into the door again. "Roman..." I tried again, a little more forcefully. He didn't seem to acknowledge me.
"REMUS, LET HIM OUT, YOU SLIMY FREAK! LET HIM OUT RIGHT—"
"ROMAN!" I screamed, practically louder than he was yelling if that were even possible. Roman stopped and turned to face me, surprisingly with tears streaming down his cheeks.Like a lot of them. He was on the verge of sobbing.
I had never seen him this way. He usually kept himself together in times like this...but...
Something was wrong. Something was very wrong.
I swallowed, wishing Patton were here to help with his emotions...
But I was the only one left.
"R...Roman..." I stated. He sniffed and began whimpering lightly as he sunk to his knees, losing all the hope he had left. The poor prince had reached his breaking point.
I sighed and sat down next to him, putting a hand on his arm. It wasn't the most comforting thing, but I really didn't know what else to do. He kept crying, paying little attention to the contact.
"Roman, what's bothering you?" I finally asked. Roman met my eyes, trying to hide his fear.
"What?" He asked, wiping away a few tears. "What do you mean? Patton is gone...it's a miracle that I didn't break down befo—"
"Tell me what's really going on, Roman." I said firmly. He flinched back, knowing he couldn't fool me."I..." he started. Then he suddenly broke down into sobs and placed his head in his hands. "I-I was s-supposed to prot-protect them! And n-now...and now..." he sobbed and I reluctantly pulled him into a hug, not knowing what else to do.
At first he seemed surprised. I thought I was doing it wrong until he suddenly clutched on to me and began sobbing into my shoulder. Well, say goodbye to that polo, I guess.
He sat there for a moment before continuing,
"Virgil...he can't do this by hi-himself." He sniffed, recollecting himself for the next sentence. "He comes to me, basically every night...with...with nightmares. And anxiety attacks. He can't handle Remus alone!" He sobbed once more, and I squeezed him tighter."He's not prepared...heck! He doesn't even have his...his..." he stopped for a moment and pulled away from me. I saw he was staring at something behind me. When I turned to follow his gaze, I realized it was landed on Virgil's unzipped hoodie, laying on the floor. Roman sobbed once more.
"Without that, he...he'll feel scared...and alone...and it will be all my fault!" Roman yelled.I caught him as he fell forward and pulled him into another hug, knowing this one would last a lot longer than the one before.
We sat there for what felt like ten minutes before Roman started going tense. After a moment he flinched and reluctantly scrambled up to his feet.
"Roman..." I said trying to keep him from hurting himself. "Roman, what are you—"
"We're wasting time." He said, clearing his throat and slinging the hoodie over his shoulder. He drew his sword, but I could see behind his shield of fake bravery."Roman, it's OK...you're important too—" I started.
"No. I'm supposed to be the brave one. That was...that was uncalled for." Roman stated, sniffling again. I could see the look of fear and dread behind his eyes.
"No, Roman. It's OK to feel—"
"How are we going to get to them?" Roman asked, changing the subject. I looked at him in confusion."You're...you're asking me?" I clarified. He nodded.
"Brawn obviously didn't work. Now we need to turn to brain." I smiled. He wanted a logical solution. It only took me a few minutes to come up with the perfect plan. One similar to one we had used before.
"I got it." I stated, making Roman's eyes light up even though behind his fake mask there was a whirlwind of dark staring back at me. But right now, we needed to help Patton and Virgil.

Roman's POV:
Logan's plan was perfect. I knew he would think of something...I knew it...
They were going to be OK...Logan was smart enough to get them out of this.
Trying not to imagine what Virgil and Patton were doing, I nodded at Logan who was standing at the opposite end of the hallway, about to go into the Kitchen where Thomas was making dinner. I listened carefully as he took a few steps in.
"Greetings, Thomas." he said. I heard Thomas breathe in sharply which told me Logan startled him.
"Logan...what's up? Have you found Patton?" Logan breathed in deeply before replying,
"Yes. We know exactly where he is. It's a wonder why we didn't know sooner! I mean, Remus is absolutely horrible at hiding things."
Thomas didn't say anything for a moment. He must have been confused.
"Uh...OK..." he finally said. I turned the corner."Give me a break!" I shouted, making Thomas jump again. "Remus is such an egotistic freak." I refused to make eye contact with Logan's smug face as I continued. "He thinks he's so smart." Thomas shrugged.
"So...where is he?" he asked.
"Oh, in the Imagination, of course." Logan stated. "He's so bad at hiding. Honestly."Thomas's eye twitched, and I smiled, knowing it was working. "He even left the doorway to the Imagination unlocked." I lied.
Thomas flinched back. "What?!" he asked in a familiarly squeaky voice. He cleared his throat, still sounding an awful lot like my brother. Then he laughed.
"What an idiot..." he said, chuckling.Me and Logan made eye contact. The thing about the doorway to the Imagination was that since it didn't have a doorknob, it was nearly impossible to tell if you had locked it. Remus now thought the door was unlocked.
Which meant he would "lock" it, and unknowingly unlock it for us.
Logan was brilliant.
