"What now?" You complained walking down the dock as Pope pulled up in the boat. "John B and I took the boat out and it kinda um stopped working" he replied. You stepped on the boat and sighed. "And why do you need me again?" You questioned. "Mechanical"
Pope stopped the boat and you quickly clibmed onto the other, tying off the rope, Pope trailing not far behind you. You found John B crouched nect to the alternator. "What did you do this time dumbass?" You asked. " I'm gonna act like you didn't just call me a dumbass" he said "the alternator isn't alternating anymore" you took his spot as he left trying to find the problem. "Hey guys" you called hearing a splash quickly running to the front of the boat. "What the heck? Get your asses back here!"
Below your feet you heard banging. "John B! John B I swear to god man" you slid open the hatch on the boat...JJ. "What the fuck" he said looking up at you quickly climbing out of the hatch running to the front of the boat. "guys! Don't leave me here with her!" "Good thing I wasn't planning on staying with you anyways" you said taking off your shirt and shorts leaving you in a small red bikini. JJ had his eyes glued on you, respectfully looking up the whole time.
"They're not gonna come back for you Y/N" he said as you jumped off the boat into the water swimming after the boys. "fuck" you said giving up and swimming back towards the boat. You shrieked as you felt a sting in your side climbing back onto the boat in pain. "I don't know what you expected you swam right into a manowar" JJ scoffed as you sat down on the side of the boat. "You know they say to help a jellyfish sting you have to pee on it" you said. "Yeah I have a better idea.
You were both sat at the front of the boat, you still hunched over in pain. JJ rolled a blunt looking over at you "I know you don't smoke but trust me this'll help with the pain" "you said it yourself I don't smoke" "maybe not until today" he said taking a few drags. You looked at him taking it out of his hand. "Be careful it's my cousins cripple" he said watching you. You pulled it away from your lips feeling it hit the back of your throat making you cough up a storm. "I told you" he laughed taking it off of you.
"Hey JJ" you laughed looking over at him. The sun had set and the sky was now dark. You were both settling down, atleast you thought so. "Would.you rather have eyes for nipples or nipples for eyes" you said. "You know when you get older and-" "cut the crap Y/N. Enough of the 'hey JJ' bullshit" he said looking down. "Why'd you do it?"
You and JJ had been "bestfrinds" sinse 3rd grade, you wete practically inseperable. You had a good thing going until last summer, the pogues threw a kegger and of course you were all there. And after lots of drinking and dancing you met a guy. You got it off instantly. JJ saw all of it and the jealousy in him grew and you didn't see him again that night and then he grew distant. The sneaking out at 5am to go watch the sunset on the dock stopped, the comforting him when something happened with his dad stopped, the calling you at 3am to come pick him up when he was too drunk to carry himself home stopped. It all did.
"Why'd I do what?" You sighed. "Last summers kegger, everything we had you threw away because of a stupid one night stand" he said looking down. "You say that like you had feelings for me. You were my bestfriend and as soon as I hooked up with someone you stopped talking to me. But I watched you for months drop me within seconds for any of your hookups. What's the big deal?" You asked. "One minute you love me and the next you hate me. I don't understand" you said looking away from him, your eyes welling up with tears.
"Because I love you" he said softly. "I still do" he said, his voice cracking.
"If you loved me why didn't you tell me?" "Because it's not as easy of you think. There's the no pouge on pogue making rule and um well I've never been loved before, I don't know what it feels like. So I was scared if you did you know love me back I wouldn't have liked the feeling of being loved by someone else and it would have ruined us completely. But I did that already. I pushed you away and I shouldn't have. I'm sorry" he said. "I miss us" he whispered.
"I miss us too" you said scooting over to him. "I promise you if you would have told me sooner I would have understood completely. Sony apologise for being scared when I should be apologising." You sighed. "I love you too" you said quietly looking up at him. His eyes met yours, quickly looking away he looked at your lips. "Can I?" He asked. Without hesitation you kissed him, him immediately melting into the kiss. It felt like it lasted forever but you pulled away. "I've been waiting to do that for so long" he said with the biggest grin on his face. "Me too" you giggles quickly pecking his lips.
That night you fell asleep together under the stars, he held you safely in his arms.
That morning you both woke up at the ass crack of dawn and waited at the front of the boat for the boys to pull up. They soon did leaving you both feeling relieved. "Don't give them the satisfaction of thinking this worked" JJ said quietly. "Don't worry wasn't planning on it" you giggled. "Good morning guys" John B said quietly pulling up next to you. "Whatever John B" you said rolling your eyes. "Oh shut up you love me" he laughed. "So uh did you guys you know..." "reconcile our differences?" JJ questioned. "No not at all but we're willing to work together" he said. "That's a win" John B said. "We'll take that" pope laughed as you and JJ climbed off of the boat. JJ swiftly wrapped his arm around your waist. "Now let's go home" you both smiled.
