It took weeks of convincing. The boy didn't want to put up a Christmas tree, let alone go and pick one out with you. He wou ld always argue that he had something to do like studying or helping out his dad at hop. But it's was Christmas break; you knew that school never gave out homework over Christmas and you knew his work hours because you worked the same shifts as him.
You wouldn't give him a break about it, not until he broke and gave in to go with you.
"Why couldn't you just take kiara with you?" He groaned, climbing into the car.
"Because pope" you said popping the 'p'. "Kiara has priorities just like everyone else and I would rather not disturb those.
"But you'll disturb mine?" He asked looking at you.
"It's different. You're my boyfriend and we live together so we should do these things together" you responded with the biggest grin on your face.
"You're lucky I love you" he said leaning over, leaving a quick peck on your cheek as you started the car.
Listening to Christmas songs, you both sang your little hearts out on your way to pick out the perfect Christmas tree. You had always wanted a Christmas like the ones in the movies, with their tall tress illuminated by pretty little lights and sparkly tinsel. You were the biggest Christmas lover and everyone around you know so once December rolled around it was Christmas songs on the radio and talks of buying each other gifts all month round.
Parking the car you both got out, walking round to meet pope. Instantly you took his hand and dragged him down the isles of Christmas trees.
Some of them were tall and some of them were small and some had fake snow on them but you hadn't yet found the right one. You could tell pope was getting fed up; he'd let out the occasional sigh and he was losing interest at looking at dozens of Christmas trees.
"What about this one?" He said stopping.
"I like it" you said observing the thing stood infront of you.
"You like it?" He asked.
"Yes pope, in fact I love it" you smiled.
"So this is the one?"
"Yep" you nodded "this is the one"
With a little bit of a struggle you got the tree home, thankfully all in one piece. You a stood it up in the front room, positioning it in the right place.
You pulled out the boxes of old Christmas decorations that your parents had insisted you too with you when you moved out and sorted through them all before arranging them on the tree.
"Here princess" pope said handing your the star. "You should put it on top"
"Thank you bub" you smiled, taking the star off of him, standing on your tiptoes, placing it on top of the tree.
Stepping back, you observed your work. The tree was gorgeous; it was covered in red and white tinsel and had a few ornaments hanging here and there.
"I think we did a good job" you smiled.
"I agree it look gorgeous" he giggled hugging you from behind.
"Maybe disturbing your priorities was a good idea after all"
