About 9 months ago you left the little island you once called home. You went off into the big world, and by the big world you mean collage in California.
You had always dreamt of becoming some sort of writer, weather it was writing stories or publishing articles that hundreds of people would of read in the news papers. You never knew exactly was gonna happen and you had your mind set on one thing.
The first few months were plain sailing, it was everything you had ever wanted and more. You made friends. You went to parties. You joined clubs and you worked hard. But collage life wasn't for you. You missed the pogues parties and sailing on the marsh, all the little things.
But you missed your friends the most and your boyfriend, JJ. He was the boy of your dreams. You had been dating a year and a bit when you left, your two years together coming up soon. You managed to make distance work when you could. You knew the situations JJ lived with and you knew sometimes him getting in contact with you would be hard so you made sure to text and call him every morning and night.
Your parents would hate you if they found out you wanted to come home and drop out of collage. They had such high expectation of you even when you were young. But that's what happens when you live in figure 8, every one has their standards of their kids set high, wanting them to do exactly what you did, wanting them to go to collage.
You hated living in kook family with a passion. You hung out with the pogues instead, getting along with them a lot better. It took a while for JJ to warm up to you bit John B, Pope and kie you had no trouble with. Kie was your best friend and then she kinda forced you and JJ to get along and your glad she did. About a year later you started dating and you both fell in love with eachother.
Snapping out of your thoughts you felt the ferry come to a stop. You wete home, Outer Banks.
You stepped off the boat taking in every thing around you. It was just the same as when you left. The same people, the same shops as you walked up the deck. This was what you missed.
You ran as fast as your feet could carry you. "Watch it kid!" A middle aged man shouted as you ran past him. "Sorry!" You shouted back not stopping.
You didn't go back to your parents home you ran straight to the cut, across the bridge that created the divide and down past Haywards shop. You saw a few familiar faces but not the people you wanted to see.
You slowed down and steadied yourself as you got closer to the chateau. You took one of the familiar paths through the trees and only to be met with no one outside. The hammocks were still laced around the trees and a few beers bottles were scattered on the floor. Just as you remembered.
Pushing the door to the little home opened you were ove again met with no one. You set your bag down on the couch and looked around. No one was in the kitchen and no one was in John B's or the spare room. "Where the heck are they" you muttered. What if I missed them or they've left too you thought to yourself. The dock, you remembered.
Quickly leaving the chateau you walked down onto the dock quietly. "Hows the relationship going man?" You heard John B ask, standing back for a minute wanting to hear what he would say. "It's going great man two years today can you believe it" he smiled slinging his fishing rod out into the water. The way you missed that boy.
"Who thought JJ the boy who didn't believe in love would have fell in love with literally the kook princess?" Pope laughed. "And managed to keep a relationship with her" kiara added.
"Have you heard off her today?" Kie asked. "Uh no not today actually I messaged her not long ago but I haven't got a reply yet" he said sounding sad. "She probably has classes or something" pope said.
"Oh yeah sorry about that my phone died on the say here" you said stepping forward. "Oh my god" kiara said turning around and running over to you. She engulfed you in a tight hug, pope and John B doing the same.
"Long time no see" John B teased. "Yeah I know" you giggled.
JJ was still froze in his spot taking you in. You were the last person he expected to see today. You looked over at him he had the biggest smile on his face. You didn't say anything you just ran and hugged him.he hugged back tighter than ever.
"I missed you so much" he whispered. "I missed you too JJ" you said pulling away from the hug, looking up at him. He rested his hand on your cheek. "Happy two years baby" You smiled. "Happy two years" he said planting a kiss on your lips.
"Yuck" you heard pope say behind you. "Way to ruin the moment" kie said slapping his arm. "Ow sorry" he said.
You laughed and looked over at them. "I missed you guys" you said. " We missed you too it's not the same without you." John B said walking back up to the chateau, you and JJ hand in hand.
"You didn't tell us how long you were staying for" kie said. "Forever" you said.
"I'm sorry what?" JJ chuckled. "Did I hear that right? You said forever?" He asked turning to you. "Oh yeah I'm not going back it's not for me" you responded.
"Y/N your parents are going to kill you" John B said. "It's worth it"
"She's back baby!" JJ shouted with a laugh. "It's good to be home" You smiled.
