I sit at my desk
Today,
Worn, tired, and somewhat unwell,
As I contemplate the hell
Played out in Paris.
I am not a religious man,
Though I can respect those of faith,
Any faith.
I am quick to criticize;
Politicians,
Monarchy,
The Church.
My intention is not to offend,
Or to bend
Other minds to mine.
It is purely
To exercise my right to have a voice,
A choice,
To have an opinion.
Those who played out
These horrendous acts,
And those cowards who planned them
Do not represent any faith,
Just their own,
Small minded,
Misguided,
Beliefs.
